  1. Killer ride man! I too think you should provide the dealers details. Service like that doesn't come around often. Corn Nug
  2. I agree it doesn't reflect a level of intelligence or knowledge. It does however reflect the amount of time you are sitting in front of a computer awaiting carpal tunnel to set in..... Corn Nug
  3. Nice job lads! Always nice to see your kayak reports. Congrats on the successful opener. Corn Nug
  4. Great report man. Glad to hear you enjoyed the day with your dad. Corn Nug

  6. Nice job Nut. Good job putting in the time. It paid off, so how was dinner? Corn Nug
  7. If you've got any 2"-3" salmo stickleback/perch patterns troll them 6 to 10 feet off the shore line. Good luck man. Corn Nug
  8. Excellent bait for specks. Best presentation is to tie them to a tiny hook with super fine line. Corn Nug
  9. Nemo, If you can rassle up some of the good old stuff with 99% deet you'll be fine. The last day of my spring trip this year the critters were just starting to emerge. That was May 6th. Last year we were in the park around this time and the black files were just insane. The fishing was on fire though. You're right about there being few people this time of year as most don't have the wedding tackle or the patience to deal with a black fly constantly burrowing into their ear. Good luck man and don't forget your bug jacket. Corn Nug
  10. Buy a Chevy ASAP. That should cure the problem..... Corn Nug

  13. Creepy! If you look close it appears as though there is someone standing at the side door! Corn Nug
  14. Very nice report Sherriff. Glad to see you boys had a good time and even got into a few fish. Those boats you're in look really cool. Sure beats looking at fibreglass or aluminum. Congrats! Corn Nug
  15. Nice job on hunting down those gators guys. Looks like a great time was had and what a beautiful day to be out on the water. Congrats. Corn Nug
  16. I've noticed it a few times on x-raps specifically where you attach the snap swivel. Hasn't had any negative effects like tangles, casting problems, etc... Hopefully rapala is aware of the problem and working towards a solution. Corn Nug
  17. Nice job Bassmaster4. Glad to hear you enjoyed the day with your old man. One pike is better than none. I was out today for a couple hours and got skunked. Like you I'll try again tomorrow. Good luck. Corn Nug

  20. Got out this morning with a couple of friends to a local pike hole. Nice cool crisp day with clear skies and lots of sun. Trees are now in full bloom and the scenery was excellent. I started using a small trout pattern rap but wasn't having any luck. My bud showed up with some sucker minnows and I switched my rig. Minutes later this little guy hit. My buddy lost one too and we packed it in. Gotta head to the folks place and do something nice for mom today. One last shot before we left. Corn Nug
  21. I had the pleasure of heading into the northern interior of Algonquin with the KWP for our annual spring trip. Temperatures were perfect. Between 13 - 16 degrees during the day with clear skies followed by cool nights, 1 -2 degrees with star infested views. Water temps were frigid so safety was a priority at all times. Here's a typical morning around 7am on our host lake. Dead calm... Our meat boats anxiously awaiting their return to water... Friday morning I went out for an early morning troll with my bud Satan. We were looping back after running our typical troll route and Satan offered to paddle giving me a chance to cast around. Second cast to a nice pocket off shore resulted in my first laker. 20" x 38" estimated weight 19lbs. This big fella instantly earned me the trophy for this year... Back at camp times were good and looking up I pondered how the mighty pine manages to climb so high considering it's growing out of a rock island. I must mention that winter was rather harsh on the park this year as we witnessed countless monster trees ripped from the ground, root ball and all by gusty winds. Some of the area has changed drastically since last year... As I mentioned nights were cool which was a bonus for keeping a small amount of perishable food fresh all week. Sleeping was made easy by simply driving some of this into your boiler... A typical KWP lodge meeting around the fire... We ventured to a new lake this year and upon arrival found dozens of helgamites swimming around shore. Cleary we needed to catch some as there was no doubt those specks were feeding on these little critters. Once we launched I quickly noticed tons of oxygen bubbles rising to the surface. This lake was gin clear and so rich in oxygen I knew this was too good to be true. A couple of laps trolling the perimeter produced this... Regretfully our time was up and another spring opener is in the bag. I had a blast this year and can't wait to return next spring or hopefully this fall if we can get the KWP together for another journey. Before our departure I snapped one last photo of our view for a week. Makes me realize how small we are here as there are truly bigger things at work... Corn Nug
  22. Wow terrible news Rich. That is truly sad, father and son. I'm sure the water temp played a large part in the fatality. I'm off to Algonquin next week and just picked up a pair of Helly Hansen flotation pants. In the rare event a canoe gets flipped they could add a crucial hour to survival time. Corn Nug
  23. I had the pleasure of spending the afternoon in the ER. I was out for lunch and a buddy of mine ordered ravioli. As he carried on about how fantastic his dish was he offered others at the table a taste. Not being mindful of the potential poison I was about to ingest I drove a piece into the old trapper. Moments later the sensation I fear began to show itself. Apparently the mighty fine dish was loaded with Walnut shavings and I realized what was occuring. Who the &%#$ puts walnuts in ravioli anyway? Anyway, no time to mess around and ponder what the chef was thinking when he put this little beauty together. Off to the hospital for a quick shot of adrenaline + antihistimene. Feeling fine now and I'm not looking for sympathy with this post but I wanted to raise the point to those that have food allergies to always be aware and be sure to ask if you are not 100% positive. Needless to say I would have been much happier sitting at my desk slaving away then spending time in the ER. Be careful folks. Corn Nug
  24. Bucktail, Check this out. http://www.smithoptics.com/index.html I am loyal to Smith for both sunglasses and snowboarding goggles. Great customer service. I've damaged (my fault) my current pair of shades twice and they've shipped new ones with just the cost of shipping passed my way. They've also got a new line of polarized fishing glasses out. Corn Nug
  25. Hey Jedi Is that a Mountsberg gator? Corn Nug
