  1. I'd stick with paying your service provider directly. I've had these people stop by too and they don't seem to really know what they are selling you but want you to sign on the spot. They claimed to provide a better rate on hydro and gas. Upon investigation of my current rates they were higher than my hydro provider. Odd considering the sales pitch I heard. You'd likely have to sign a contract with them that could be hard to cancel down the road. Just remember no corporation is looking to save you money, they're just looking to line their pockets. Just my thoughts... Corn Nug
  2. Nice work Jeff. Some nice early fall fatties you got there. Corn Nug
  3. Hey guys, Just a heads up for the Rugby fans on the board. Canada is testing their skills tomorrow against Fiji in the Rugby World Cup 2007. They have a shot at a win as their forward pack is looking strong this tournament. The last time Canada beat Fiji was back in 1995. If you don't have the RWC pay per view package or Setanta sports you can still see the match on Sportsnet at 7:30am. Hold off on going out fishing and tune in. You should still be able to hit the water by 9:30am. Corn Nug
  4. Well hopefully we'll get into some Luv2drift. I'll post our trip upon my return. Thanks for the info. Corn Nug
  5. Nice work lending a hand and watching out for these poor fellows. Interesting flipside to the character of man given the post about the scum sucking dude that robbed a dying fisherman at Bronte. Very heroic IceGuy. You should be proud of yourself. Corn Nug
  6. I can't comprehend how someone could ignore a dying individual and steal his material possessions at the same time. Some people are just sick. I too hope they read him the riot act and throw the book at him. He deserves to be shot and wizzed on..... Corn Nug
  7. I'm heading into Rain Lake the last weekend of September. I am familiar with the north end of the park but have never ventured in through the south west side. We will be staying (hopefully) on the island on Rain Lake with daytrips to Hot Lake and Jubilee Lake. I'm assuming there will be decent smallie fishing as they seem to be well established throughout the park. Any advice or info on other species would be much appreciated. Looking for specks and lakers. Feel free to PM me. Thanks everybody. Corn Nug
  8. Nice work Jedi. Sounds like you got your share of fish over the weekend. Corn Nug
  9. Nice smallies! Glad to hear you got into some numbers. Great day to be out on the water too. Corn Nug
  10. Thanks guys. I thought this "tip" seemed questionable but figured I'd run it by OFNer's for input. Thanks again. Corn Nug
  11. Great family report! Congrats to your grandson on his first "Lip Grip". Corn Nug
  12. Beautiful brookies Dan! Sounds like a great way to spend the holiday weekend. Too bad it's almost over... Corn Nug
  13. I stopped in for some gas this afternoon at a local station and the guy working passed on a "tip". He said he adds a litre of diesel to his full non leaded tank of gas in his truck. He explained that this is by far one of the best injector cleaners and that his truck runs tip top as a result. He does this once a month and has been doing so for some time. Is this method good or bad in your opinion? It sounded strange to me but I'm not overly fluent with the mechanics of vehicles. Any thoughts? Corn Nug

  15. That's the best time to get a deal on Swift. They also sell alot of used rental canoes out of their shop in the Muskoka's. Check their website for hot deals. Nugs
  16. Have no experience with the model you mentioned but I can safely say that Swift makes an excellent canoe. Lots to choose from depending on your desired application. Corn Nug
  17. Great report! Love the shots of the swamp donkey. Corn Nug
  18. That was one of the best reports I've read. Sounds like you and your buds had a blast. Awesome pickerel by the way! Thanks for posting. Corn Nug
  19. No dice for me as I'm allergic but my buds will tell you it's a toss up between fried pickerel and freshly smoked specks. Corn Nug
  20. Congrats to you and your girl Steve. The smiles alone tell a great story. Once again a fine report. Awesome looking bass. Corn Nug
  21. Nice work Rich. You two sure put the hurt on several species. Great report. Corn Nug
  22. I had the pleasure of spending the last 4 days with my family up on Bird Lake in a cottage we rented. The weather proved to be unpredictable but we still found time to wet a line between thunder storms, canoeing and beer drinking. The owner of the cottage said the bass fishing was great and one of the best spots was off the point just at the end of his land. Well he wasn't lying... Here's my Dad with a well deserved smallie on our first morning... Later that evening we got back at it. I landed this guy on my first cast using a skitter pop... A storm was rolling in quick and offered up some great scenery before it hit... As the days went on the fishing action didn't fade. At dusk I got into bass after bass on the trustworthy dew worm rig... It was quite the task keeping them out of this stuff once hooked, the bass were putting up a great fight... Our final morning we got up early, despite the hangover, and headed back to the point for one last kick at the action. Turned out to be a great way to end the trip... My Dad picks up this brute minutes after our first cast... Followed shortly by this scrapper that gave me a good go... Next up my sister gets into the action and lands this... I had a great trip and look forward to returning next year for a rematch. We found that there was a small window of when the bass were on but the slightest cold front moving in could shut them off quickly. Big thanks to Hookset for giving me some insight on this lake. Much appreciated man. Corn Nug
  23. Nice bucket Jedi. Your hard work/paddling paid off. Corn Nug
