hey guys, just got back from the temagami spring trip and let me tell you i worked my but off trying to catch those walleye.. i searched my usual spots and nothing..i asked some locals who told me fishing was tough do to the crazy weather they have been having..i can tell you it was unusual not to see one blackfly or mosquito..so i started looking at water temps and finally found them holding tight to the shore..yup still in post spawn they were..so i began to cast every shore line, shoal, fallen trees and widy points and they she was, she was empty and probaly starving... here is another one caught from my buddy mike who usually does well but only got one this year.. as you can see weather was awsome the walleye were beat up comming off of spawn as you can see the tail on this walleye..it was badly ripped from spawn all in all i would say we did pretty well on the walleye considerin most people wer not catching them..and yes we ate them and they were GOOOD !!! also found me some pike and a laker.. the laker was caught jigging in 65 feet of water.. i got 4 lakers jigging and none trolling..most people trolling this week had hard time catching lakers..even though the screen was full of them got me a couple more doing the same thing.. caught 1 walleye per 200 hundred casts..did i mention it was tough fishing??? all i can say is i cant wait for august...and feb ice fishing..lol

most caught were in 75-85 feet but then again.. this guy we caught in 65 so who the hell knows..this is the first time we caught 6 trout in one day all in 2 hours of fishing..i think it was one of those days when the fish were on the hunt..

after reading that i feel "hi"

here is a trout caught in tough weather conditions..the bite was on for about 2 hours.. kept 1 and put 6 back.. all of them close to this size..we ate this one and he was just fine.. wish i could stay out longer but the wind was too strong boat would not hold

i find when water temps are below 55 i start to fish walleye like i fish for bass casting the shoreline with some meat..i will tip my twister tail with a fat dew worm and slowly retrieve my jig back to the boat bouncing of bottom as i reel back.. if i see fallen branches i cast there and fallen trees..if this does not work then the worm harness is next in 7-12 feet of water trying to follow some sort of drop off or trying to pass over rock shelves that are close to points were current could develop..when that does not work.. i look for a shelf between two points as to heard walleye through and anchor my boat just before drop off, usually depth of 9-11 feet and drop off about 16-20 and wait for dark..usually walleye will be crusing for food and at this time i tip my jig with a minnow..hope this helps..usually works for me, but then again walleye are finiky buggers..

i have an etech on the snowmobile and a suzuki 4 stroke on the boat ..so far both are awsome this is a tough question..i don't know what i would have chose for my boat if the etech was available back then...
-
so im not the only one..makes me feel a whole lot better..i can't wait to be on the boat and smelling that fresh air..i will be in temagami on may 29th week had some guys bail out so we are 3 to a huge cabin. if there is anyone out there who would like to come we have room for 2 more guys cost you abot $150-180 for the week and some good times plus good fishing spots..well not all of them but most..lol....you would need to have your own boat.. we would be five guys in total and cottage takes 6 so lots of room..any takers let me know..if may 28th is to hard then i can still change date to june 6th week..

first of all hello guys its been a long time for me.. ive been working out of town and now am back home..irish thanks for the concern and no i did not drown in diamond...i can't believe that its may 10th and my boat still has not seen lake water unless you count the wataer that comes from the hose.. last year my boat saw more rain water than lake water.. i plan to change that this year.. anyone else have this same problem.. work is the culprit for me..to much of it makes for less fishing..
