BURKE must go>>> what does he plan to do to make leaf's better next year>>>NOTHING he already gave away 1st and 2dn round draft picks>.he has no one to trade, lets face it the leaf's 1st liners are 4th liners on other teams>>what he needed to do is what people call "bottom feeding"..pick up 1st 2nd 3rd round draft picks or trade for them>>not give them away or trade them away>> let them play and become better over the five years so then finally you could have a good team and a good run at the cup>>the leafs need to build a team to win the cup its been proven that when you build a team with players in high drafts and trade for players in high draft positions and wait for these players to mature and lets not forget you need an awsome golie you can win a cup..but the BURKE is doing what all other leaf gm's have done in the past>>> trade away your high draft picks for veterans who are not wanted on other teams for some reason, oh yah of course we do find out why the other teams did not want them, there not really as good as we thought>>

thanks eye-tracker..i was in a lake that was 27 feet max depth ..i did not enter the shallow water setting on my unit...the sonar picture on the right of the screen seemed to be working on and off every 5 seconds or so...
-
ok...i have this new lowrance hds7 unit on my boat..i have the power wire connected to the switch on my dash and the transducer wire attached directly to the back of my hds unit...im on the lake first time and to my dissapointment..i cant get a clear picture...at some points during the day i had no bottom on my graph and at other times all i had was vertical lines all chopped up on my screen.. i know there is some kind of interference happening ..but from where?? i have had lowrance fishfinders all my life and no problems...should i hook the power wire from the battery directly to the unit and skip the switch on my dash?? can anyone help me..im not that great with electrical things ....thanks

really cool man -
i have used crippled harrings (silver and blue 1 oz) i found that jigging for lakers has always worked for me during the summer months.. i usually follow my sonar untill i find bait fish or large hooks on the bottom...i drop an anchor line on each end of the boat so i dont drift.. i like to be still so i need a very calm day on the water, this keeps my jig straight.. i drop my jig down and jig it very fast and with very high strokes...if i see a suspended fish i bring my jig on top of him...many times when they hit you the fish are taking a big run at your jig hitting it from the bottom and they can travel about 30 feet up with your jig... at this point if you dont reel in all the slack line quickly you will loose that fish...lakers always hit from the bottom upi have yet seen one go down after my jig which was under him...hope this helps
-
pigeon? fished it before..not on opener but a week or two after..i used mostly jigs in blue and tipped with a crawler...i have also trolled very slow in deeper water just off the drop off's using a gold double blade worm harness..worked for me..the trick is to troll very slowly if you have to, troll backwards...
