I wouldn't call them tricks. The store is not out to deceive you out of your money. They just want you to spend the money you will be spending on groceries anyhow at their store, not a competitor. They use good business sense and some marketing methods that sometimes can be hard to make sense of to be able to offer you the deals they need to get you into the store. Having some knowledge of that side of the business can also help you save a few bucks.

Scamming your grocery store would involve somehow adjusting the price on the item so it scans incorrectly and you get it for free. Holding a store to its written policy, no matter how small the discrepancy, is not scamming the store. The policy is there to motivate the store to keep its databases up to date so that they don't accidentally overcharge a large number of customers. keeps them honest.

The only time I've had an issue is when things were shipped UPS. They like to tack on a 'brokerage' fee. Reputable business will have all the duties, taxes, and fees worked out on your bill already so you don't need to worry about it. If you're purchasing from someone personally or from e-bay have it declared as a gift. As adempsey mentioned, check out UK sites as well. I've had them honor free international shipping offers without any fuss. Compare that to Bass Pro, who can't even be bothered to set up a website in Canadian dollars.

Really? Ever heard of prioritizing? Police in the GTA are probably a bit more worried about things such as gun crime, keeping fentanyl off the street, and keeping things moving in the city. They've warned people about warm-up thefts, have a couple resources working on it, but it's not a huge priority as people don't die because of it.

It would be like playing a game of whack-a-mole. Catching the guys stealing the cars won't stop it from happening, another guy just shows up to take his place. It needs to be treated like organized crime where the leaders are taken out, but there's a lot of politics involved in doing that.

The organized crime that is (unfortunately) run off some of the reservations in Southern Ontario would fall nicely into your criminals and professionals categories. Some get used in other crimes and then dumped or burned, some get chopped and sold, and the higher end vehicles get shipped out of the country. Sad to see because it causes a whole culture to be painted with the same brush, but around here's if you vehicle is missing it's most likely going to shop up on or around the res.

We went this route a short while ago, and are saving a good bit of money every month because of it. You could also check out a product called JigSkinz. It's a heat shrink wrap that was developed to allow you to refresh beaten up lures or refinish new ones. They have some excellent looking realistic finishes.

This is tragic, as no one in their right mind should have been out on ice in this area. It's been way to warm for any ice out this way to be safe.

I would probably give model paints a try, followed by a dip clear coat. Model paints should allow a good variety of colours and they will spray or brush without much trouble. A good dip of a clear coat meant for flooring use will help it hold over time.

I've been thinking of getting some sort of personal watercraft again. I sold my pontoon a couple years ago for lack of use, I would rather sell it and have someone use it that watch it rot away in my basement. Debating between a pontoon again and a kayak. Pontoon is nice and stable and sits you high in the water so you can see structure better, but takes more effort to paddle around in still water and takes time to set up. Yak is easier to paddle around in and you can be set up and fishing pretty quickly, but you sit low in the water and can't see what you're casting at so much. I realize that the fishing kayaks are a lot more stable and designed for standing, but that extra width comes at extra cost and weight. Plus I'm a klutz, so I know I'll end up in the drink every once and a while.

It's for when you're combat fishing Bronte and the Credit for some street-fighting salmon. Only the tough ones make it past the snaggers, so you need to be ready for a brawl.

I really appreciate how The New Fly Fisher showcases any and all species on their show. So many fly fishing shows end up being just about trout, salmon, or steelhead. That's fine, but around here you would be shortchanging yourself if you didn't also go for the warmwater species. Got me contemplating the drive to.

Oh, Hoovers. Bad enough on a normal day, I can only imagine it on Pottahawk weekend. Port Maitland is also nicely set up to chew up boats if not tied off properly. Your story reminds me of when HTHM took me out and while waiting to load we watched a kid drop his parent's boat off the roller trailer because he had unhooked everything before backing down the ramp. Quick tap of the brakes and it's off!

Some grease and oil formulas can absorb water, causing what you're seeing at colder temperatures. A good clean out with WD-40 (water displacer formula #40) and a re-grease with a water-resistant grease would fix you right up. Surprised that Pfluger would use a non-moisture resistant grease. Unless the water has just worked into and emulsion with the oil or grease due to the action of the gearing.

I've experienced that. Price was to good to be true and it was the biggest perch fillet I've ever seen. Still good fish if it's fresh and prepared right, but not Yellow Perch good.
