Try going to Walker direct...they used to sell parts direct plus you eliminate the middle man if they still do. Tell Randy Ford ( owner ) that Darryl Cronzy sent you!!!!! Another place to trry is North Bay Distributors ( in North Bay ) they stock most rigger parts and can ship overnight.

Want it to last longer....have it undercoated, my personal preference is Krown. Our one vehicle has had it applied every year for the last 7 and not a rust spot on it the same goes for my truck. Well worth the yearly expense in my opinion.

A fellow I know went there a few times in the mid to latter 90's and had a good time. The Watson's have owned it for a long time and it seems to have repeat customers every year so they and the lake must be doing something right. As far as accommodations you definitely won't be roughing it.

Well Terry some years are better than others, but either way just being there makes the whole trip worth wile.

Please make sure you get the brakes working, if you ever have to panic stop especially on wet pavement you will know why. Curves also can make for a scary experience. Electric brakes on a trailer are easy to maintain and once the controller is set up correctly will provide the extra safety a family should have. If you don't already have one get a smoke detector and monoxide detector as well. Better to be safe than sorry.

Were thinking about going to visit a friend who has a cottage on Manitoulin Island. In the past I have fished some of the other lakes ( Kagawog, Ice, Wolsley etc. ) but never for some reason Manitou. Since we won't have a lot of time to find spots if anyone can give me some info on better areas to fish for Bass and Laker's it would be appreciated. Feel free to PM me if you don't want to give your spots or numbers out for all to see. Thanks

I've downrigger fished for over 45 years and fixed downriggers for the last 20 and have to admit that's the first time I saw a Jon rod holder bracket like that which makes me think some handy person made it. Jon usually ( if the holders are not part of the mounting assembly ) mounts the rod holder at the back of the rigger. Unfortunately I'm not sure how this mount will work but it's obvious the springs are there to absorb shock. As far as weight you should have an angle in you cable. We only use 10 pounders for deeper applications or when it's very wavy.

Gobies being an exotic species are a definite NO! The unfortunate part is Bass love them.

Here's one ( around 20" across ) I cleaned out in 2005. Waited until dark, opened door to shed, sprayed ( saturated nest ) with a can of killer removed nest after a while and burned it. They never came back. Cost about $6.00 for a can of spray.

For me make it propane, not only will you have light, but a heat source to warm your hands as well. Just remember propane stops flowing at -40 F or C so don't go to the sub artic with it.

Cliff...I think some of the most fun I have had working has been since our so called retirement 7 years ago. Besides the stuff I do out of the house, my starting to work at the campground 3 years ago has been a blast. Between the office on weekends during the summer to cutting grass, plowing snow, operating our grounds equipt and doing light maintaince after summer is over I just have a a great time. I think things are just more fun when you don't have to do it but just work because you want to!

Well the Moody's were just fantastic. They sounded as close to the original recordings at times you would have thought they were lip sinking ( which they were not ) I would go to see them again in an instant. Just a great show with all the old psychedelic backgrounds, brought back a lot of memories.

Going to the Moody Blues concert tonight at the John Labatt Centre made me start to think... In the 60's and 70's went to concerts with long hair, happy roll your own smokes, hidden beverages and non prescription drugs...NOW short hair ( going bald ) don't smoke and don't drink and the only pills are prescribed! Life sure has changed!
