  1. If the spool is drilled, or whiffled, just tie the line through one of the holes, and u won't have any problems with the line slipping on the spool. Having said that, keeping good tension on the spool of line when u spool up with also prevent line from slipping. Most ppl that run into the problem of line slipping on the spool, are not spooling the reel properly.
  2. Toyota tundra is a great truck and one of the best towing vehicles, and I was gonna buy one myself... I just didn't have a spare 60K sitting around to pay the dealer!!
  3. i have 300K on my 2002 grand cherokee and its still running great, no major issues with it.
  4. Look for a jeep grand cherokee, I have one. Really nice vehicle. Tows well, roomy inside, can get a 4.0 V6 or the 4.7 V8. Ur better off getting the V8 as u'll get better gas milage out of it. Its a 4x4 so u won't have problems at any ramps. U should be able to find one in the 2005 range with fairly low km's for under 9 k easy. Prolly even newer models for under 9k if u look around enough.
  5. Good luck! I NEVER fish a tourney, smallies or largies without having a dropshot tied on with me! And don't overwork ur baits, very subtle usually triggers more strikes. The currents in the waters will do the work for u, when fishing very calm waters vertically, try baits that are neutrally bouyant as they will stand out more naturally.
  6. Aikmans was a joke. They were dropped as a service center because shimano had too many complaints from customers trying to deal with them! The new shimano rods, from crucial up, have the wild card warrenty, a one time, no questions asked free replacement on a broken rod, over the counter. After that, I believe its a $60 warrenty fee for a broken rod.
  7. I would totally keep it! Would be great motivation for my kids to behave!! Haha
  8. The swivels and hooks with swivels aren't needed. Ur gonna get some line twist no matter what, its more noticeable with flouro then braid. I use a 6'10 medium xtra fast rod spinning reel, spooled with straight 8lb flouro. Trokar dropshot hooks, tied with a palomar knot, and a dropshot weight at the bottom. Any plastic bait will work. Match the bait to the species ur targetting and the forage in the area. X zone slammers are my go to and win me lots of tourneys, jackall crosstail shads and powerteam lures hammershad.
  9. Shimano crucial, beauty cranking rod in several different lenghts and actions
  10. Very sad to hear! 67 shelby mustang GT500 is still my favorite car ever! And one day when I sell the kids, maybe I can own one...
  11. flipping for largies!! dropshotting smallies, and i had a great time jiggin walleyes on the detroit river a couple years ago, cant wait to give that another go
  12. Most people in the world will suffer at least one concussion in their lifetime and likely never even know it, Sports are so popular and publicized that concussions are brought to the fore front. And used as a blame and scapegoat in many instances. But I would bet that the number of concussions in sports pales in comparison to those suffered in car accident, household accident, kids playing and just normal life. Each person is different, it only takes a slight bump to the head to suffer a concussion for some people, sometimes head contact isn't even necessary for some concussions.
  13. Blaque, I didn't take any offense to what u said, and didn't see it as nasty in any way. Ur actually bang on with ur comment. Only junior seau knows why he pulled the trigger, and no matter how much they dig, or probe his brian or make "educated" guesses, its still all speculation, only he knows for sure... And he won't be telling us anytime soon.
  14. U don't over come depression, u learn to live with it. Concussions also take time to subside. I suffered from depression before I was concussed the first time. So there is no direct connection there. And there is no proof what so ever to conclude that concussions cause depression. As u said, u have ur opinion. I have mine. Which is fine, I wouldn't bash u for ur opinion. But having known someone who ended their own life, its a selfish act. Irreguardless of what u may or may not suffer from. It only hurts the ones left behind. Its a cowardly way to avoid dealing with ur illness.
  15. Ya know... Sometimes, people just do stupid things! Can't start blaming concussions and depression. Sorry, but that's just stupid. Especially the concussion aspect. I played football, semi pro for years when I was younger. As well as in high school, and played hockey. I've suffered many concussions, and I also suffer(ed) from severe depression. And I'm still here. I didn't try to kill myself, nor did I think about it. Those that do, are weak and just plain stupid and selfish. All there is to it!
  16. Check ebay, or start calling some tackle stores. Not sure where u live, but in hamilton, there's fishing world, bills bait and tackle, grimsby tackle and burns tackle in burlington. All of which hold a good stock and u may find what u want.
  17. Lol I'm aware of that. But when ur commited to making a hit and ur already at that point, stopping isn't in ur mind. Especially if u wanna see the ice again! Cause no coach is gonna say " way to hold up on that chance for a hit" u'll be benched. In this case, I see the irony that he would still see the ice had he stopped, but as I previously mentioned, the only thing that made that hit illegal, was him leaving his feel. If he keeps his skates on the ice and delivers the same check, there's no suspension, and he's gonna be on tsn hilights for the right reason.
  18. no, some were shoulder to head, most were shoulder to chest, and the ones that did contact the head, as u mentioned, were legal hits then... but, also were not what stevens was targetting it, they were usually due to the size difference in players he hit, of the result of players skaing while looking down, putting themselves in that vulnerable position. and even now, with the head shot rules... u can still contact a players head with a check, AS LONG AS, it it not targeted intentionally, and is not the main point of contact on the hit.
  19. There was 0.8 seconds between the time he lost the puck and got hit. Good luck changing ur mind on hitting someone that quick, the game on the ice happens a lot faster then u see on tv. That timeline is acceptable to finish a check, wasn't a late hit. He left his feet, making it illegal. If he stayed on the ice, its a good hard clean hit. Torres is no saint, and for that reason, he's gonna get nailed. Hossa wasn't turning to the bench, so I don't know where that came from, from whoever mentioned that. And the difference between scott stevens and a lot of the hits we see now, was all of stevens hits were good clean hockey hits, that due to the force and the position of the other player, sometimes have devestating results. See>>> Eric lindross, when u skate with ur head down, ur gonna get drilled.
  20. I have a smoke casting reel, its held up extremely well to my abuse. Very smooth reel, I use it on my jerkbait rod, landed a ton of smallies on it last year with no issues. Haven't used the rods or spinning reels, but guys I know that have had nuthin but good things to say
  21. Exactly!! Torres will get 6 games. IF he stays on the ice, its a clean hit. Injury or not. But he left his feet, making it a charge.
