  1. He was lucky he only gave up 2 runs.
  2. :0 Fantastic job on the restoration.
  3. I guess I'm a sucker for wasting about 5 whole dollars pre year for easy preventative maintenance on all my motors. Just put about half a can in snowmobile for its last tank of the season. Hopefully burn it all tomorrow and she'll be ready to fog for the summer.
  4. It's a confusing time of year...
  5. Yep. If you're getting bit off that much, switch to fluorocarbon leader material, tougher than mainline. I hate tying harnesses with thick mono, so I stick with 8 lb xl or xt and accept that I'm going to get bit off once in a while lol
  6. Still about 30" on Kipawa as of today. Highs forecasted in double digits for the rest of the month, so I hope to be out for specks and greys shortly after the Apr. 24 opener. Will be very tight.
  7. Got away from using them last couple of years. They wouldn't be my first choice for trolling, but they are my first choice for slow rolling in current, especially in cold water. No rattle and little action can be the ticket early season.
  8. Yep, original PP is still the best braid on the market for my money.
  9. I can recall checking the indepth map online of the zone and yes, whitby harbor was outside the boundaries of zone 20. Frenchmans is in zone 20. Not sure about Oshawa.
  10. Whitby harbour and maybe oshawa as well are both zone 17, meaning pike are actually open. Check the regs. Use jerkbaits with really long pauses in <10 feet of water. They're usually pretty plentiful this time of year.
  11. I've seen multiple 50" from lower buckhorn. Every bit as good as restoule for big fish.
  12. Always good to crack the code on the home lake. Looks delicious, wish we had crappies here.
  13. Awesome. Your renegade buddies are makin ya do all the heavy lifting with the little ol bravo? That last one is an absolute leviathan.
  14. Labs are big lovable goofs. Perfect family dogs.
  15. My boat is still sitting under 3 feet of snow : ( On the plus side, the trails are still beautiful!
  16. Great shot! Love the looks of the sauger
  17. Yeah, the NPS guys are kinda funny, and bad grammar aside, what's really the issue here? He's complaining about the steelhead warriors that act holier than thou when someone else on the bank decides to legally harvest a fish that their license dollars help to stock. Kinda bugs me too.
  18. They are natural specks. Those fish had been laying out in the sun for hours.
  19. Awesome! Best time to be on the ice!
  20. I wanted to pull him around behind the safari in it to see how well it planed out, but we didn't have a strap. Chris no caravans in my future!!
  21. Whitepine and Whirlgig will remain 100% closed I'm sure regardless, and all the other lakes are just stockers anyway.
  22. Pulled this gorgeous mint condition wooden boat outta the bush while speckin today...and she floats! I thought about strapping on the merc and takin er for a rip down the lake but figured it would serve us better as a heat source, so we sacrificed it via campfire to the brookie gods, and were rewarded with a modest bounty... -18 this morning but my raccoon eyes tell me that spring is not far off. Another 3-4 weeks of safe hard water fishing then the sled goes away...I hope!
  23. Ahh yes, snide comments from condescending gta steelheaders...spring is in the air lol!
  24. The average size of whitefish in Simcoe is pretty huge compared to just about everywhere else, that's for sure.
