  1. Easily the most underrated Sabbath album. It's a Sabotage night
  2. Not many trout reports these days, so I thought I'd share my trip from today... Spent a full day on the water chasing specks and greys (something I do a lot) on the fly rod (something I never do!) and it was an absolute blast, despite the absolutely horrid conditions. And by horrid, I mean borderline gale force north wind, subzero temps and intermittent snowsqualls ALL day. Despite this, we boated 3 nice size specks and the 14-17" lakers were non-stop action all day as per usual for this lake. Used mostly leech flies and wooly buggers on a full-sink line, and I can't wait to do it again! Took home our 4 lakers, plus the specks making for a meal fit for kings!
  3. Wow, very cool technology. Great for guys like me with short trailer, long truck syndrome
  4. Nice fish!
  5. Why are people up in arms over this? It was illegal before, it's illegal now, they just added an extra sentence into the regs to be more clear. lol I don't think a CO is going to give you a fine for photographing a fish while it's in the water, c'mon guys.
  6. Absolutely yes!
  7. You're putting an awful lot of thought into something extremely simple lol. Just go find a pier and cast away lol
  8. Hot butter and a light coating of garlic & butter fish crisp. Tough to beat! Though I haven't tried preparing them scallop style yet (cubed, boiled and dipped in garlic butter is apparently excellent too).
  9. Hah, that's funny. That's where I live (if you're referring to the town of Temiscaming and not Temiskaming shores/tri-towns area)
  10. That's cool. That's not a record I think I'll be beating in my lifetime lol
  11. With walleye season starting up this coming weekend, I doubt there will be any burbot fishing until fall, but we went out with a bang having probably our best trip of the season. Got on the water just before 10, and fished until around 12:45 and boated 15 ling, taking home 8 of nicest size fish. Capped off the night (and season) with an absolute brute, far and away my PB and the biggest I've ever laid eyes on in person. ...and the meal will be fantastic!
  12. Some real tanks in there. Looks like a great season!
  13. Awesome video for guys like me that can't fish for the wallys yet!
  14. Yep, I got lucky, now I know better
  15. I suggest you spend about $1000 on a little 12 foot car topper and a 4-5 hp motor and your options will be endless within a very short drive of Espanola.
  16. Well, I did some reading, and it turns out I knew a lot less about these buddies than I thought (my first trailer with them) lol. The good news is that I didn't blow out the rear seal, but I was definitely overpacking both bearings, like to the point of packing until excess was coming out of the sides...at least I know now. So the bearing is still packed tight, o-ring back in, and covered up. The only thing that is not in there is the spring, which I'm sure I can do without until I'm ready to repack again (?), at which point I'll just replace both buddies anyway, since they could be as old as the trailer for all I know (08). No other bearing systems have a spring loaded system that I know of, so I don't see how not having a spring in there is going to hurt me at least for the short run.
  17. I had been using caps off aerosol cans and duct tape...worked fine until rocks broke them into pieces lol
  18. Just had the spring pop out of my bearing buddy while greasing, and what looks like a small o-ring seal. There was definitely a 'popping' sound, so I obviously lost my seal. Is this buddy still salvageable? I'm about 45 mins from anywhere that would carry them so I'm hoping all is not lost. I lost the rubber cap on this side and the replacements I bought were coming off every time I trailered so grit and dirt was allowed to get in, but I figured that since it was packed tight with grease, the grit was only contacting the very outside grease, staying away from any parts in the bearing.
  19. Had no idea the Larry had chains...cool!
  20. Awesome story...they aren't small fish either!
  21. You have Manitoulin Island down the road for rainbow trout galore and that little river that runs through town has got to have a couple walleyes in it
  22. Time to bring the dip net!
  23. Ohhh yeah. I just got my fly rods rigged up for next week's brookie adventures (beer)! looks like an awesome trip (beer)
  24. A hell of alot better than Kitchener!!!
  25. You better get to that rod in a hurry if a big fish hits!
