sad times are these. my '97 GMC sierra is soon to be parked in anothers driveway. great 4x4 to me and still fires up on command whenever/whatever period!! even at 308,000 km's she still thinks she's in her prime. however , my daughter has now come of age to drive and i'm thinking a smaller ,more metric version of the truck is a good idea ,my little girl is quite petite. with insurance rates as they are [ her G2 just 5 days old ], i cant swing buying me a big truck, her a nice little car and pay her insane rates too so a newer ,smaller take-me-fishin truck that we can share seems to fit for us. i need a newer truck but she says she'll drive "anything dad" , she wants the sierra,but i think it's time to pass her on to a buddy of mine who needs bigger truck to haul his boat out at those nasty launches. the trucks i'm looking at aren't new but both are in great shape with pretty much mirrored selling points. '06 toyota tacoma 4x4 versus '06 nissan frontier.4x4 haven't done any solid reserch yet,, guess i'm starting here. where does your preferance rest??

we used the"condo"in areas of high bunny concentration and traffic.send 4 stakes at 4 feet in lenghtth into the snow about 7 feet apart in a square formation. attach small trees connecting the perimeter of the stakes at about 10 in off the snow.cut small branches of fir trees and attach them to the trees connecting the 4 stakes creating 4 walls ,leaving 3 small holes on each of the 4 sides set your snares at each of these openings . cut the top off a young birch tree with good buds and center it in the condo bunnies love birch buds. 2 to 3 a night was not a uncommon.4 foot stakes allowed you adjust the height of your snares when it snowed.

interesting take from an informed resident . sometimes these small groups get their point heard and it gets a nod from others who just go along with a well-written complaint. great post here , poses a few questions for me . how much does this actually sway the kill limits and do these town cryers even care if the fishery suffers due to overharvest? ahhhh ,not ! -
great info thrown out about the 5lb tanks .i still like the idea of milkin' the 20lb tank to the 1lb'er.where do you find the valve to do connect the two? i've been savin' empty 1lb'ers with hopes to fill a few for reserves. those little tanks are gettin' pretty rich at CTC.

delicate dance this one. old friend who needs a day out and away ,, his wife who needs a rude awakening to who her husband really is and then the poor buggar who really should go to camp with solid buddies but is troubled due to moral obligation. judgement... camp with buds,,, the wife is just being unreasonable.

wow!! the higher-ups in charge of the welfare of valens conservation area have wonderfully decided that this little gem should receive some much over-due protection. even a very healthy eco- system has it's defining limits when realizing it's sustaining potentials. smaller reservoirs are very vulnerable to specific fishing pressures and practises so they must be intimately understood. Valens has now been classified as a catch and relelease [C&R] conservation area. all species in the lake are under the same protection. WTG!!

a piece o' gum in a dyke mentality. after hunting a property for 3 years the landowner aske me "what should i do here"? he opened a door to room where he safely stored his hunting rifles .maybe a dozen hand-me-downs. nothing representing arms for a small militia.how many guys were in the same boat , terrified the LAW would come and snatch them off their farms because of uncle ED'S 12 gauge. so many guns will be hidden away and never see an RCMP stamp. and why should they? farmers ,land-plot owners and licensed hunters are far from the target group that endangers our society. billions spent,, innocent , law abiders shouldn't have to loose family keep-sakes out of fear when criminals enjoy the fruits illegal guns provide long guns are not the problem.

a fantastic region to fish with many honey-holes even in smaller conservation areas such as shades. what can we foresee happening here in an area so close to a major population base without a sufficient enforcement to babysit a non-conservation minded society? lower numbers of smaller sportfish!! even as little as five years ago , i've seen these reservoirs producing great catches! poor valens is in a state of ill-management still too.

radio station chum[104.5] and shell canada get an idea to meld and give away some gas. i'm never this lucky . i here the announcement while on route to drop my little one off at aunties for school. it's on my usual trek route to work and i have time to sit in [an expected} line up with all the other naive fools. maybge $10,,maybe even$20 . i'll see what's up . arrive to see a very organized , well-staffed ,efficient and most importantly ,,VERY GENEROUS bunch at the pumps . free bottles of water, free car washes , free slushies air miles bonuses. the best ,, unbelieveable part was that there was no cap on the free gas. i was planning on filling up on the way to work anyway as i was hangin' at a mere quarter tank when i heard about the give-away. the attendents began to point and laugh amongst each other when i reached the $70 mark,," you got a big one ' they joked .{ they even pumped it for me} i filled out at $80.72,,, free. appearently, a pro-mo for a new additive that breaks down engine sludge. no sales pitches , no haggling ,, just free stuff. what a great way to start my day {along with 399 others}
