  2. You don't fool mother nature, we're gonna pay for this. Saw on the weather chanel yesterday that they are looking for much much much colder weather later this month, but looking at the 14 day long range It goes below freezing on the 15th and stays there out to the 20th. Best it can do is a paultry -6C
  3. It was there, now.......... gone
  4. That is super. You've got a keeper in that GF
  5. Nice unit. The guide I was with down in Florida had one. Spot a hump push a button, go on fishing, then easy to navigate back to the hump. Cabelas is way out front of Bass Pro. Last time my wife ordered me something from Bass Pro as a birthday present it came UPS, (the brown dog). Between brokerage and shipping I it came to over $50. We all learned from that one now she gives me BPS gift cards
  6. And it's not supposed to get any cooler for awhile. I posted a comment last week about Keswick being forecasted to be +12 in a week or so. I didn't post the link so there were some unbelievers. So here is today's 14 day forecast for Keswick http://www.weather.ca/weather/14day/pages/CAON0342.htm yes that's +12 on the 12th Consider that this is from the foks who can't get it right 24 hours in advance. I might dispute the +12 but you can't dispute the trend
  7. The way they are building cars these days after market rust proofing is just a waste IMHO I've got a 97 and an 02 CRV not a speck of rust. Just wash um every month or so
  8. When I think about what's now sitting at the bottom of Lake Simcoe yea I over spent. Had wayyyyyyyyyy to much stuff and not enough of what really worked. Now that I have to rebuild my tackle box from scratch I'm a lot more discriminating. I don't run around to bars, mess around on my wife and she angel that she is lets me buy what I want. You only go this way once so why not enjoy, and a good women by your side is just icing on the cake, but don't tell her I said that.
  9. With the US declaring that cloned animals are safe to eat does that mean we can now expect the birth of PETCA, People Eating Tasty Cloned Animals ??? My last snide remark for 2006 and all the best to everyone for 2007 Bob
  10. Voice and Data Networks Manager for Staples Canada sooooooooooo looking forward to adding retired to that
  11. Yes TomD that was Keswick ON. Thought I could show you the graph but they changed it and are now looking at around +1 take a look here http://www.weather.ca/weather/14day/pages/CAON0342.htm
  12. $150 in BPS Gift cards $100 in cash from a lottery win and another Battleship My wife apatrently thinks that one is never enough. They're kits 1/350 scale One will be the USS Penn, sister of the Arizona and the one I just got is the British King George V. I don't know if I will go into all the detail that some do when building these. Some of this is awesome detailed work. I figure 6-9 months to build the first. I'll do some photos along the way and although it's NF I will share them even if I screw up
  13. dito to what Pigeonfisher said. I looked at the long range forecast for Keswick and can you believe Jan 10 +12 They might be off a degree or two but any self respecting ice that forms will be short lived

    Winter?

Long range has changed a little for Simcoe. Now the 31'st and New Years are calling for below freezing, but only slightly and yes snow Much as I like ice fishing I hate to shovel. On the other hand all those years I spent in Texas not having to shovel was balanced off by the 100F+ July's and August's. So we get what we get, just relax and be happy about it.
  15. Pinnacle's web site http://www.pinnaclehobby.ca/ also right down the road from them is A&J, much more info there http://www.ajhobby.com/defaultpage.asp?cat=Home I decided to go back into model ship building. Some of these models have some fantastic detail in them, but a lot of work. So this is going to be my 2007 project, take my time 6-9 months I figure. First model is the Arizona, but I am going to do it as her sister the Pennsylvania. Beats sitting around watching the boob tube. So far the damage is ship=$29 tools $130 and counting
  16. among other things I dropped my gaff down a hole while ice fishing. An hour or so later I was jigging the hole and felt a little resistance, yep the gaff. The rope on the handle must have floated up a little and I snagged it.
  17. Great advice, thanks much only 2 problems now 1. catch pike 2. remember all this stuff
  18. looking at the long range I just don't see the deep cold snap that we will need for Simcoe. Sat Dec 30 +2 and rain yuck
  19. drive me nuts. nah that's just a short putt
  20. Would be nice is the weather cooperated. Forecast for today cloudy, this afternoon cloudy, tonight cloudy gimme a break willya
  21. No car troubles, thankfully, but the pointy haired idiot that I work for came up with a network design that absolutely 100% will not work and now he wants me to "make it so". Maybe I should reverse engineer alchemy too 2, maybe 4 more years and thats the end of this crap, going fishin
  22. I hate to shovel or drive in that white crap. I also like an ice fishing trip or two. But with this warm weather I figure we are living on borrowed time. Mother nature usually gets us in the end
  23. Bought a Honda CRV in Texas when I lived there. Brought it to Canada, registered in Ontario poof goes the remainder of the warrantee. and lets not even mention the extended warrantee that I was stupid enough to buy. and I had to pay off the bank too
  24. you're assuming that there will be hard water on Cooks by then. This morning in Keswick it was +1 and the long range forecast ain't all that good
  25. be careful if the covering has any yellow spots don't lick um
