Also had a tough night out on the Pool yesterday. 1 largie on a senko, the other a nice fish about 3lbs ona top water. Dad got bit off by a huge pike... This weather isn't helping the fishing at all.. We need a week of stable weather to get things sorted out again.,

If you want some big cheap DCG look-a-likes, check these out from Tackle Booty, I have a few of them, good quality plus the price is right (He even ships to Canada for cheap!) www.tacklebooty.com Also has really nice Bulldawg type baits.

I used a 1 piece Mustang suit when I was out on the water with the MNR during their muskie rehabilitation program.. Super warm and not to restricting.. I'll most likely be picking up one of those before the cold weather hits.

I bet the elastics I used to use in my braces a LONG time ago would be perfect for this. Stop by your local orthodontist and say your kid ran out

Are we talking Little Lake right besides the 400 or Little Lake that is attached to Gloucester Pool?

We ripped the entire skeg off our 40Hp 4-stroke Honda while out in GBay this spring. Stupid me watching the new chartplotter and not looking where I was going.. missed a set of buoys :) Got a shop to weld on a new skeg, good as new. I wouldn't worry about that little chunk missing.

Yup, definitely check out the RIV site for all the required documents.. My dad bought a '07 2500HD Duramax down in Florida when we were vacationing.. Was a pretty simple process to bring it back across the boarder and getting it registered here in Ontario.

My deepest condolences Ron.

Topwater has to be my fav, Zara Spook Jr's and PopR's... Cranks and livebait also work well (leeches, minnows and worms)

Save yourself some $$$ and look at picking up a boat in the US. Can get quite a boat for your buck down there.

What do people expect from a country that puts sports on the bottom of the list. Look at the way kids are brought up here, compared to the US. Simon Frasier is the only college in Canada that gives out athletic scholarships, this is just because they are apart of a the NCAA conference, or else they wouldn't either. Kids in the US are groomed from a very young age, baseball, football, etc etc are huge deals down there compared to here. So much more emphasis on sports in the US and other countries compared to Canada.. I'm not complaining, I am happy we whip people at hockey all the time. Although it would be nice to see another Ben Johnson or Donovan Bailey rocket down the 100m and lay a beat down on the rest of the world.

I started off with a old Quantum Rippin Reel (yeah, the ooold ones) used that for atleast 10 years and finally upgraded to a Shimano Citica at the start of last year. Fished the Citica extremely hard and don't have a bad thing to say about it. It put up with everything, from bass to big pike without a hiccup. Started this year again with the Citica, but my oldman said he wanted to try baitcasting so this was a great opportunity to upgrade I picked up a used Shimano Calais 200. I wouldn't even think of buying this at its retail price, I was actually looking to pick up a used Chronarch, until a deal came up on a Calais I couldn't refused. Still the most I've ever spent on a reel, but the difference between a low/mid range reel and a high end reel is like night and day. This reel just makes everything easier for me.. Start off with something less expensive, then do some research and spend the bucks on really good reel, you won't regret it.

I've gotten out more this year then I ever have before. If it's windy, we'll fish behind some cover..... if it's raining, we'll wear the rain gear. Between fishing with the oldman atleast twice a week and a day or 2 trout fishing, this season has been an absolute blast! I gotta admit, this site really helps. We have such a great bunch of guys here.. From seasoned muskie guys answering my newbie questions, to guys offering up great deals on tackle. This site has made a huge impact on the amount of fishing I do, and has really helped me spend more time with my oldman doing the one thing we both love. I owe the members of this awesome site a very big thank you.

Check the vacuum connections underneath the battery tray. My buddy had a similar issue. After taking the truck into the dealership, he no longer had 4WD. The dealer forgot to plug in a few vaccum lines, lol

The weather wasn't to bad on Friday morning, although the wind was our enemy... Gotta admit, this type of fishing is really fun, getting right up in the pads and hitting the holes and edges. I caught a few small largemouth, biggest maybe 1.5 pounds. The dang rock bass loved the 5" Senko's alot and I almost used an entire bag in about 4hrs!!! I think the colour of the day was flourescent green flake. Even the smallest largie I picked up absolutely inhaled it. I'd like to find a lake with a bigger population of largemouth and try this tactic. Maybe I'll have to make it out to the Kawarthas again and give this a shot. Thanks for all the tips guys, they really helped!! (Although I found myself setting the hook a few times :) ) -
The train coming through at all times of the day really ruins that PP.

If the value of your house is increasing, why would you think you'd pay insurance on what you'd pay for it? That doesn't make much sense. You should be paying insurance on the fair market value of the house.

Thanks guys! Looks like the weather is going to hold out atleast until tomorrow afternoon, so we should have a couple of hours to mess around with. If I don't pick up any o-rings, can I just hook the senko in middle and be done with it? -
scam scam scam, if you enjoy cold calling people, then by all means take the job, lol

Thanks guys! I think the plan is to just rig them wacky and drop them down inbetween the lilypads, holes etc. Unless you guys think I should Texas rig them to give them a bit more weight? Jose, I'll pick some of those elastics up before I head out! BTW, that reel is smooth as butter man, I can toss even a 1/4 topwater a mile! -
Need serious advices on when to take days off to fish stream salmon
BillM replied to a topic in General Discussion
Tossing spoons in Devils Hole after a nice zap with a camera flash(the spoons need to be glowinthedark), has always worked for me near the end of August. I haven't been down there in a while, but I doubt you'll find a crowd after midnight -

Is there a decent run in GBay enough that I could spend a few hours tossing spoons? I don't know what kind of salmon population GBay has (If any) -
Going to take the day off work and hit the Pool with my dad. We are going to get into the thick stuff and drop some senko's for the first time. Any hints or tips I should know about? I picked up some nice 5" ones at JB's in some natural colours, along with some circle hooks. Should I run a long flouro leader or can I tie directly to some 30lb Suffex? I am actually pretty excited about this, completely new way of fishing, plus I just love getting into those back bays, thinking about what's lurking underneath....
