  1. Medium action spinning rod, spinning reel and 8lb FireLine should work fine. Get some jigs, use half a shrimp and you should have no problems catching fish (if they are there) This is the setup my oldman and I use when we shore fish in Florida. Haven't been snapped off yet. Might also want to use a Flouro leader.
  2. Aren't alot of the baits impregnated with salt, not just covered? I would think the fish would hold on a bit more if it bit into something with some taste
  3. I usually drive faster then the flow of traffic when the conditions are bad. But I'm not weaving in and out of traffic being a dumbass. I drive a good 50K a year, perhaps I am a little more comfortable in this kind of stuff then some people, who knows.. Nothing beats a good set of snows and the knowledge of what your vehicle does in what weather...
  4. Wow, exactly what my HTC Touch can do without a overpriced dedicated data plan. Add Garmin Mobile XT to my list though...
  5. I am definitely going to get my plastics into hard containers this years. Bags are such a pain in the ass. Which plastics *shouldn't* go into containers?
  6. All people need is the email account associated with your Paypal account.
  7. ^---- Must be an Eagles fan.
  8. Everything.. Topwater, flipping jigs, cranks, tube fishing, chucking monster muskie baits, etc etc.. The only thing I use my spinning rod for is really light tube jigs, vertical fishing for pickerel, and stream fishing for specs.
  9. Kemper, if I knew any Lake O tribs had some decent softwater, I'd be out!
  10. You're kidding right? How long did it take Apple to get something as simple as 'cut and paste' to work? Not to mention sending out updates that resulted in bricked phones... The IPhone is nice to look at, but there are other devices that do things alot better then it does...
  11. Ah geez, that thing is cute! I would probably stop feeding it, for it's own sake (Although I'd have a hard time to, so don't feel bad )
  12. Buy a used Curado off of Ebay and be done with it. Expensive reel at a nice used price... Don't blow big $$$ on a first reel.
  13. Softwater for sure... How ice fishing can even hold a candle to top water smallmouth in June is beyond me. Nothing beats waking up at 4am, hitting a dead calm lake and working a Zara spook over a nice shoal in 10-12ft as the fog burns off.. Not to mention my addiction to floatfishing... I'd do it all year if I could.
  14. You need some Senko's and a better selection of tube jigs.
  15. Unlimited data plan on Bell is $10 for phones such as the HTC Touch and the Samsung Instinct. If you go with a true Smart Phone like a Blackberry, they won't give you $10 unlimited data. I have a HTC Touch with unlimited data and I do all kinds of stupid crap, that would cost $100's if I didn't have an unlimited plan.
  16. Mike, that rocks man! I really wish I wasn't allergic to fish, cause those perch look goooood! Nice to take the kids out fishing with their grandpa!
  17. Yup, it's not very hard. I put the boat in the water until the ass end is floating. I then unhook it and push it off the trailer. Tie it to the dock, pull out the truck/trailer and I am on my way. That is an awesome tiller btw!
  18. I think the light has to be above water level for it to be legal no? But there are a few lures that have flashing LED's inside, so who knows.
  19. maintenance maintenance maintenance...
  20. Guys, a great investment for the winter would be a Tempro ZeroStart coolant heater. I use one on my TDI, and the glowplug light doesn't stay on for more then 2-3 seconds. Alot better to warm the coolant, which then circulates *most* of the engine due to convection. You can pick them up at Crappy Tire for around $50 or so.
  21. Keep it coming guys!! As a bachelor, I need all the simple recipes I can get.. Brian, I like the crockpot, lol
  22. Thanks dude, I appreciate the advice. The last thing I'd want to do is bugger up the bearings on the reel I just picked up
  23. It could, if so I'll start using something else
  24. John, I take it apart after a day of fishing, clean out the gunk and give the bearings a drop or two of 3in1 oil... Maybe I am over doing it, who knows
  25. I am sure a lot of people felt like that up here this morning dude! lol
