Those smolts shake like mad and put up a good fight on light gear for sure. I'm done trout fishing for the season because the water temps are getting up to dangerous levels. Time to chase bass, pike and whatever else decides to eat a topwater.

Hit the Ottawa for 'eyes, ended up with about 9 or so. Hit a couple of real nice smallies, biggest just under 4lbs. Not bad for a blue bird hot day. Looking forward to the rain this week.

Apparently you can put the boat in across from the post office in HH. Just down the road I've heard rumors of some guy letting you park on his lawn for $10 or so.

Gerritt, I dunno what it's worth buy my oldman has a John Deere and it's been nothing but dead nuts reliable. It's an older model, probably mid 90's or so, but the thing is built like a tank.

Yup, JP's got it with this one. I hate using any kind of leader with topwater, but if I'm in water with toothy critters a nice 2ft length of 20lb mono does the trick without messing up the lures action.

Really depends on what depths you are fishing, the conditions and the cover (rocks, log, the slop, etc) I like to use 1/4oz for tossing tube at docks and fairly shallow water. I'll up siza if I'm dragging tubes for smallies on lake shoals etc.. For the slop, heavy jig/pig to get to the bottom and braid as thick as rope, lol
