  1. Drew, the Tree is on my bucket list, along with a few other places.
  2. D5000 has HD video capabilities.. Might wanna look into that one also!
  3. Yeah, that was one of mine.. It was a little weird looking... Other side was fine.. I was about to take a pic of the good side when it decided it didn't want to lay there anymore and swam away, lol
  4. I got so bored of catching them, I started to spear them with giant icicles.....
  5. I've never chummed(unless you count throwing a busted bag into the river), although I got a buddy that does extremely well with it when things get low and clear.
  6. lol @ spam. If you are into HT, you've heard of monoprice Just trying to save the guys here a few bucks.
  7. A bonus with winter estuary fishing. Nice mix of fish to.
  8. Hopefully you'll be able to show me in person in a week or two?
  9. That snow storm was interesting to say the least, I am glad I slept through most of it!!! As always a fun day on the river Mikey, I still have those maggots in the fridge I still need to email a certain jig manufacturer about that hook that bent and pulled out resulting in me losing a nice fish. Second time it's happened...
  10. For any of the guys buying HDTV's this winter, please make sure you checkout monoprice.com for ANY of your cabling needs. Futureshop, Best Buy and the rest of the big box stores make a killing out of over priced, over hyped HDMI cables. When it comes down to it, it's all about the 1's and 0's... now if you can tell me how one cable does this better then another one I am ALL ears! Shipping to Canada is cheap and super fast.. I've been using them for years... monoprice.com
  11. Tree River arctic char... Very easy choice.. (Stolen from Bunks thread)
  12. Learned a tonne about walleye fishing.. Back trolling, lindy rigs, jigging, etc etc... I used to hate trolling with a passion, but I've recently fell in love with backtrolling harnesses for some reason.
  13. If I could have one TV it would be a Pioneer Kuro Elite... If I couldn't have that, it would be a Panny plasma.. Now, if I was putting this TV in a well lit room, it would be LCD for sure.. All depends on where the TV is going to be, what you'll mostly be viewing on it, and what you want to spend...
  14. Don't worry, tomorrows 4 degree temps will make waste out of whatever snow is left on the ground I didn't even bother to shovel today.. The snow will be gone in no time.
  15. I am hoping to have a day like that this summer with the trip up to Attawapiskat... One day I'll get myself a char....one day!
  16. I dunno about a terrorist organization, but they are a bunch of nutjobs.
  17. Leave the skein and the rest of the nastiness on... In the winter every little bit helps.
  18. lol! I'm a master of something, but it's not the pin Right now I use 8lb Drennan Super Mono... I've just recently started to use a swivel above the float and it's drastically cut down on my line twist. I can safely say that after the first time I put one on, my line twist all but disappeared.. After the first couple of fish were landed, my worries about another point of failure disappeared... Just gotta make sure you figure out the depths you'll be fishing that day and leave enough length between your first swivel and second swivel accordingly... However twist will surface when you are fishing the larger rivers (Saugeen, Catt, Genny) where you actually have to make long distance casts. I know I should learn the Wallis casts, and I am but my buddy Dave does a weird sidecast/wallis combo and it works out well for him.. I've been trying that with a bit of success... I'm not a huge fan of the floating line, they usually turn to wire in the cold weather and are a huge pain in the ass (again if you are making big casts, the ditches out east don't count, lol)
  19. Trust me, if you are standing in water freezing your ass off all day not moving much neoprene is the way to go.. I have great boots, awesome socks and good quality waders and my feet still freeze in the winter. I took Mike's advice and ordered a pair of cheap neo's for the winter.. I'll leave the breathables for when I'm hiking/warmer weather.
  20. Make sure you ask for the tax on top of the value they offered... Every little bit helps. My parents '06 Jetta TDI was totaled.. It had 56K on it I think, they got 22K + tax as the buyout.
