  1. The last time I did a cure on mature eggs using brown sugar/pickling salt I left the eggs in for maybe 2hrs at the most.. Turned out perfectly.
  2. Increases friction, gives the goalie more traction when he's off his skates
  3. Trilene XT is great... I've used 8lb before without issue. Alot of new guys to the game like using the floating line, I know I did. It's a bit harder to cast and isn't the greatest in the dead of winter, but it really does help you keep the slack out of your line etc... I'd just spool it up with cheap stuff, get used to the rig then maybe start experimenting.. One thing at a time!
  4. Fidel's lipstick probably rubbed off on the poor thing.
  5. Probably the best yet.. Personal PB walleye, brookie.. Massive amounts of steelhead, etc etc.
  6. hahaha!! Raptorfan, do yourself a favour and put a swivel above your float. Until you learn the Wallis, this will greatly cut down on the amount of line twist you'll get... And trust me...you'll get tonnes with the side cast
  7. Lapse of judgment there, I'm usually really good with that stuff, lol.
  8. It does man, I have been looking forward to fishing that river for a long time.. I'm sure tomorrow will more then make up for it though.
  9. John, I hope we get to share a few drifts in the near future.. Anytime on the water with Mike is an absolute riot, fish or no fish.
  10. Oh trust me, this one is going to sting for a while.
  11. Oh boy, this weekend is going to be fun I'm still pissed I made the wrong call!!!!!!!!!!
  12. I assume it's the normal channel, not the HD one? I have Deadliest Catch on right now.
  13. I think people lose more fish due to the fact that they have to manipulate the drag themselves on a pin.. I just get lazy and flick the drag on
  14. Paul, you forgot using pin also makes you look like a superstar.
  15. All you need is a cheap noodle rod ($70 Shimano Convergence) it will make a world of difference when trying to make drifts... Centerpin setups are awesome and I'd never go to the river without mine, but they can be a steep investment for the guy that only wants to go out a few times a year for steelies.
  16. You are going to have a real tough time with a rod that short...
  17. Lots of guys do just fine with a spinning reel.
  18. Or Russian dudes in the background chasing after them?
  19. I wouldn't get to excited about top water steelhead
  20. /furiously ties monster bags. Nice report Mikey!
  21. You rod isn't going to be 'bouncy' when you are drifting, lol.. I use whatever float I need to in order to get the bait down and get it down quick. If you are fishing big, fast water you need a big float and lots of shot.. The only ratings they should put on float rods are the line ratings
