  1. I had a high 30's, low 40inch pike snap me off when I tried to grab it I think I caught 3-4 of them all week (Mostly small little rockets) I doubt there's much of a pike population in the Sutton.
  2. I'd still consider those P&S cameras, just at the higher end of the scale.. The cameras between your standard P&S and DSLR's would be the micro four third cameras.. Bigger sensors then your standard P&S, but not as big as consumer level DSLR's. Better noise and high ISO performance.. That being said, the ones you've listed look like fantastic higher end P&S's.. I would definitely go to a local store (Henry's for example) and put your hands on them..
  3. I've had fish before, I knew exactly what the reaction was going to be like. I was hoping some of those fresh fish from the ocean wouldn't bother me (I can eat saltwater fish, just not freshwater).. Unfortunately my experiment didn't work! Although it tasted fantastic!
  4. Okuma for sure... decent reels for a good price.
  5. Size 18, no thanks! LOL
  6. Going to be hard pressed for people to give out info about any of the trout rivers in Grey/Bruce. My suggestion is to look at Google maps and go from there.
  7. Gotta explain this one to me chief, I'm shaking my head. Or are you assuming all fish that are milked die?
  8. I've gotta agree with Dan.
  9. I think your Dr will suggest the closet pier and some glow spoons. Please make an appointment ASAP!
  10. If I caught anything that was extremely close to 60inches and 30inches of girth, it would be coming home with me.. World record or one for the wall.
  11. Actually I do, lol (Still waiting for that monster lake trout!)
  12. The 100yrd hero hooksets, lol. Besides direct contact to the fish (Which is really nice compared to mono), it also doesn't twist like mono with the side cast. I run 6lb Nanofil on my lighter setup (Loomis IM6 + Frogwater) and my casting distance is silly. I can also mend like it crazy... I love the stuff until the below zero temps come, after that the ice will rip to shreds. I run 8lb Drennan Super Specialist once that weather gets here.
  13. Absolutely, if there were any doubts, she'd be going back.
  14. If you're filling your entire spool with braid, you're doing something wrong.. I only ever buy 1 spool to fill the pin, the rest is backing.. 150yrds is more then enough, I've never come close to the backing, regardless of where I'm fishing (Even early season estuary chinook fishing)
  15. I'd kill a WR muskie in a second and not feel bad about it..
  16. Be quiet, we all know those fish at Burt make that 70ft jump into the spawning waters!!!! I love the anti-roe crowd, relying on their own opinions instead of facts. I'd love to know their stance on the 5 fish limit out in the lake.. You want to talk about impact to the fishery? lol
  17. Yup, chinnoks aren't line shy.. Although running 8lb main with 8 or 10lb leader might lead to a few lost floats! Bump up your main a bit, then you'll be able to run a stronger leader. Although if a fresh chinook decides to take off, it doesn't matter what rig you have, you aren't going to turn it.. Hold on and enjoy!
  18. 2lb flouro leads, lol.
  19. Fish them just like you would through the ice.. tube jigs, ice jigs, live minnows, etc.
  20. $70 Shimano Convergence @ LeBarons.. 10'6... Not the greatest pier rod (aside from a custom build) but for the price you can't beat it.
  21. Snidley, I'd love to see some facts that state Bronte was a great brown fishery and because of people taking the big females home for roe, it's now been decimated. I love some of the 'info' you pull out of your rear end, lol!
  22. The Sutton was up over 2ft when we fished it a few weeks ago. I guess it all depends on the watershed.

    Notty

I now no longer use eggs, but marshmellows and big treble hooks. I've been saved! LOL

    Notty

Well it's not like these fish are stocked. If you want roe, head down to lake O and grab a big mutant, or go stateside. Taking roe from a wild fish out of GBay is pretty bad. I'm sure you might get some immature skein out of smaller eaters, but a big roe wagon? You've gotta let those girls do their thing.

    Notty

Sorry man, I don't take skein or eggs from any fish in the Notty. That's blasphemy.
