  1. Claybar will work, just don't drop it
  2. It's definitely a fun time.. Going there you just can't help but laugh.. guys ganking giant chinnies in the back screaming FISH ON, tangling everyone up and then obviously losing the fish. So much lead getting tossed around you should be wearing body armour. I go there after the salmon madness for the brown gold.
  3. Burt is definitely an experience.
  4. I like the salmons!!!!!
  5. Idle is something you can change in about 3 seconds Always worth a shot.
  6. This is the best part. You go out waste your $$$ on gas (truck and boat), shell out X amount of $$$ for the software in the first place, only to have the privilege of providing that same company FREE depth readings for them to create updated maps with, then charge you to dl them? HAHAHAHAHAHHA what a scam! Why do people fall for this? Not to mention if you're on a lake that doesn't have any depth charts available, you've just given out your honey hole. This is why the only type of software I'd look at similar to this would be Lakemaster Autocharts (or similar). It will update the current map with the info you gather from recording and you process yourself on your PC.
  7. Trolling plate would definitely do the job, although I'm surprised that socks and buckets haven't. Have you tried back trolling?
  8. Depends on what I'm fishing for, sometimes you've gotta travel for steelhead 3-4hrs one way is not uncommon.
  9. Not bad, August 20th, I would have thought this post would have been made weeks ago.
  10. So many factors.. I did the commute from St.Catharines > Mississauga daily, then did the Barrie > Toronto commute daily.. I did that for probably close to 10 years. Now I mostly telecommute. The older I get the more I refuse to spend hours in a car driving back and forth from work. I'd love to find a job in Barrie, but there's no way they'd pay me what they do in Toronto.. And lets face it, Barrie isn't exactly the IT hub of Ontario Rob, does your wife take the GO Train? I'd do that in a heartbeat if my office was anywhere near Union station, that would make the commute a whole lot easier...
  11. Worms are a lot cheaper as well But for action under the water, leeches are great.
  12. http://www.lowrance.com/en-CA/Products/Mapping/
  13. Yup, really shouldn't matter. They'll eat them.
  14. Steelhead will eat anything. Fish them under a float just like you would a worm.
  15. Yup, only for the HB units as far as I know.
  16. Usually you want to use dark colours in murky water and bright colours in clear water. One of my fav baits to run down deep (10ft off bottom) is a black/purple NK28...
  17. There's only one outfitter that services the Sutton, that's Hearst Air.
  18. Circumstances arose that wouldn't let me go on this trip, I wish I was there to see Joe land his first brookie on a top water mouse pattern, he's going to have a riot! Have a safe trips boys!
  19. Navionics Gold XL + Hotmaps. Although seriously thinking of Lakemaster Autochart.
  20. What a crappie evening. Bonus walleyes as well!

We fish crappies probably 3-4 times a week. Lastnight was crazy.

  21. It's too bad the quotes didn't work Hopefully it's a simple fix.
  22. Fill engine mounted tank through cap. Leave cap loose and start it up, crank case pressure should start oil flowing from reservoir... when it starts leaking out of engine mounted reservoir... tighten cap. Once the aux tank is full and you still get the alarm, probably a bad oil lever sensor. You can pull the engine side of the harness and short it out with a wire.... if the alarm goes away, you have a bad sensor. Try these.
