  1. So you're saying we must adapt and accept that the lake is being raped and not care and then move forward with a destroyed resource because you're not the only one who lost a job. This just nonsense in my way of thinking. Is the new way of thinking "too bad for those who lost their living".....move forward I thought the new way of thinking was to PROTECT our environment for future generations ? ? ?
  2. Well Said............I couldn't have said it better.........THANKS
  3. The Indians seem to believe as long as sport fishermen are fishing then they should also be allowed to lay hundreds of yards of GILL NETS to catch fish........never mind sport fishermen must deal with fish not biting because of many reasons.....however, all fish must still swim and that makes them vulnerable to gill nets even though they are not feeding.......
  4. I believe what you are referring to is liability insurance for bodily injury, I'm talking about property damage.
  5. A lot depends on who's car, etc........AND if the persons responsible doesn't have insurance or not enough insurance that's where your insurance kicks in. Years ago a kid hit my wife and didn't have enough insurance to cover the damage. It would of cost me $500 but he took his car to the same dealer to get it his fixed. When I explained to the collision manager that I have to pay $500 after he rear end my wife's car, he said "I take care of that for you" and put the extra $500 on the kids repair bill. WHAT A GREAT service manager he was.
  6. All you really need is a wireless "extender" from Netgear. I have their model 2700 and it works great, extending my range anywhere in my yard including the garage. It cost me $35 including shipping from Amazon.
  7. Be careful as most replacement cost policies are for only a couple of years while the boat is new.
  8. SWEET........Congrads ! ! ! Don't like trolling, as I'm a very lazy angler.
  9. 24 JUMBO (11- 14 ") perch here on Lake Erie in 2.5 hours
  10. YES, Mikey is correct but if no current you don't need a lot of weight unless you must stay close to da boat along a weed edge. I fish a lot of Lake Erie walleye and I RARELY use more then 5/8 oz of weight in 40 - 60' of water using 8# line.....I just let out more line to get near da bottom. Different strokes for different waters.
  11. Mr. Simon I agree almost 100% but I do like Lake Erie on those hot hazy days with a slow 2 foot rollers drifting a work harness. Not getting to many of those day this year....Grrrrrr I gave up that kind of trolling about 10 years ago because it's not fishing, it's harvesting the fish. And I still do quite well just drifting around with my 5/8 oz walking sinker followed by my killer worm harness.
  12. I also have made my own for over 30 years and here what REALLY works on Lake Erie for walleye.. WAIT FOR IT....WAIT...WAIT...LOL But really just a #4 Colorado blade with FIVE orange beads followed by 2 hooks.....I don't even bother with anything else when BOTTOM BOUNCING this rig in Lake Erie.......now I did use many other combinations when I use to run worm harness for suspended walleyes but no longer fish that way because it more work then fun and it's what I consider "Harvesting" rather then "FISHING"..
  13. Errrrrrr......ahhhhhhh...........never mind, I better not say anything.....LOL.....
  14. Sorry to hear you made a big mistake by buying this Honda outboard. Seen many at the docks over the years and I can tell you they are not normal outboards that most of us grew up with......... These foreign built outboards are so damn quite that you will not even know they are running while you will continue to try to start them. Either you will be pulling your shoulder out of place or wearing out the damn battery and or starter trying to get these damn thing running while they are running. BTW I'm a E-Tech guy through and through ! ! ! ! !
  15. This reminds me on how to get a group of Italians arguing.........just ask where to get the best Italian sausage, then sit back and enjoy.
  16. To me it sounds like too much weight on the transom. Can't you troll down enough with the 115....Take the kicker off and see where it sits.....I only use my 24 volt Minn Kota to SLOW troll.
  17. I would leave that sign up and hope the dumb butt who put it up would add even more........now it's a private fishing area for those who know better........................or take it down and put up with others in your fishing spot........as Forrest Gump once said....Stupid is as stupid does.
  18. I picked up my new PolarKraft 179 Frontier with a 90 hp ETech on May 30th and told my dealer I wanted a transom saver......he response was "I hate them things because they transfer every bump on the road into the lower unit. And he's a ace outboard mechanic that OWNS the marina for over 30 years that I purchased my rig. Needless to say I don't use a lower unit damage controller on my new rig.
  19. I am currently running a 5 year old battery that use to be my starting battery on my old boat (it's a dual purpose battery) and a 7 year old deep cycle battery for my 24 volt Minn Kota and it's working very well. I hope to get this year out of it and see what happens next season. Both batteries have ALWAYS been on charge whenever the boat is not in use via a on-board smart charger. Do ecmilley's test on those batteries. Also run the TM with the charger hooked up to see if it's a battery problem or a TM problem.
  20. Just meet us up here and I'll buy whatever you and Sue order............ http://www.mainelobsterfestival.com/
  21. They survived a 70 mph wind while we were in Cody, WY......the camper lifted off the ground several times while we were in it. Thank God we had the camper pointed into the wind or I'm sure it would of rolled us over.
  22. Make sure you get the HIGH WIND models.
  23. We camped one year for 30 straight days in a popup camper and eliminated the condensation problem and heat problem by using PopupGizmos............I highly recommend them on the roofs. http://www.popupgizmos.com/bunkcoverpage.htm
