  1. you mean St. Thomas is known for something other the "The Robert's Brothers" and "the Elephant" (Name escapes me right now... been a few years) Boy... Did them boys like to fight... I have a great story to tell you one day over a pint... How I kicked the younger ones arse (he attacked me..) and then proceeded to enjoy a beating by the older brother....LOL...Beer bottle cracked over the skull can do that to a guy... LOL! Good times on Talbot St! Gerritt.
  2. Looks like paul is saying to himself... please dont fart please dont fart.... either that or the camera went off when his eyes were closed... Sounds like a great outing!! Congrats on some beauties! G.
  3. Daiwa Sealine 47's 113.00 from BPS (or 95.00 USD if I ordered online).... From Bills Bait N Tackle... $90.00 CDN and no shipping charges. Seeing as how I was buying two... the choice was obvious.. even if I needed to wait a couple days for them.. Given BPS's buying power... Surely they could do better... 50.00+ is better in my pocket then in anyone else's.. Seems I can get alot of items for alot less money Locally then at BPS given the current market... I hope BPS catches up... (Cabelas has a thriving Canadian mail order business it seems as of Late) Just my 1.0718 worth. Gerritt.
  4. the boat looks nice! however... I see you used exterior ply and not marine ply... please take no offence to this.... but your asking for a world of trouble in the next few years... Sorry... just an observation... Gerritt.

  11. Kevin... While I dont own a VHS yet.. I will... and have friends that do.. and they all say the same thing.. DONT get a handheld... if you need it when it counts.. you will be happy you have a 8' antenna and the extra transmitting power the stationary units afford. G.
  12. Check out the article here... Hell I am gonna buy stock in the company and market them to fishermen! http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/local/336716_shrimp25.html Gerritt.
  13. Thanks guys I appreciate the info.. White Grubs I have tons of... kinda wondering if one colour is more visible then another as well given the depths and lack of light..... or do they use other senses as well as sight... my sonar is pretty crummy.. and I was told NOT to purchase a new one with xmas around the corner :santa: it is good for letting me know my depth and seeing suspended objects that is about it... the resolution is pure crap... but it was given to me by my FIL.. so I cant complain... so..I'll just cruise by the flotilla of boats!! LOL thanks again! Gerritt.
  14. Crap... that is bad news... I hope it does not get any worse Ger.
  15. With Quinte fast approaching I have had a couple questions on my mind.. While not new to pickeral fishing, I admit I have not fished the depths that Quinte affords (80+ feet) targeting the ever so tasty fish... my normal MO is trolling 8-12' of water and being fairly successful of water such as the west arm.. should trolling not produce for a variety of reasons on Quinte... can one jig? can the fish see the jig? would this work for those that are hugging the bottom? I assume that red baits would be the ideal bait to jig such deep water. Any thoughts? G.
