If you were there on Sunday I am sure you saw this guy. He wasn't shy at all. The Mallard seemed to know that boater's carried food. He made the rounds and hit every boat for scraps. Turned out to be a very nice day. The wind could be very cold at times but heated up as the day went on. Sun was shining and I did get a not so nice sunburn but enjoyed the day. As I stated in Glen's post, it was very quite out there with all the people and boats. I haven't experienced that kind of quite with so many people in one spot before. Tom

Nice perch Glen, I was out in the narrows Sunday too. Didn't catch any nice ones until later on in the day. Most perch were small. Released them all. Also didn't hear of anyone catching a tagged fish. Don't want to hi jack your thread but I have a question for you Glen and Lovetofish .............. is it always that quite out there during the perch festival. Wow! For a large group it was quite. And to think you have to take a special course to hunt turkeys safely. I am impressed. Tom

An email was sent to me from a friend with this link and I thought you all would enjoy this tribute. Make sure your sound is on. American or Canadian ................. they are all heroes of the greatest kind. If you haven't seen it before I am sure it will move you. Heroes Tom. Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Wayne & Maureen, a friend of mine phoned me around noon and said that the breaker was out in the area by Christian Island and the tomb. He heard the info on the radio. I went to Midland Harbour around 5pm and Sandy Bay around 5:30pm with no ice breaker in sight as far as the eye could see. The parking at the "look out" on the top of Bayshore Dr was full. Parking down at the coal dock was congested too. I wanted to take a few pictures of the breaker but that didn't happen. It might have showed up later but I didn't hang around to find out. Tom

I hope this helps you. Tom

No argument here and I am not looking for one. Just stating facts, so take a deep breath and relax. Tom.

It is not a white perch HH. It is a "White Bass" or "Silver Bass". White Perch colour isn't as silver and don't have dark horizontal lines on its sides. The white perch I have seen have a yellowish tint to their silver colour. Tom

douG, that is exactly what my fishing buddy has said for the last few years, and I thought he was one of a kind. I also agree with Joey ............ seeing is believing!!! Tom

Pike is great for a meal. To cut down on the fishy taste when caught in the summer I don't use all of the belly meat. Some people give the belly to their kids or wife because there are no bones. I take off the skin and remove the belly and the fishy taste is cut down a lot. If it is early spring, winter or fall and the water is cold I like to leave the skin on and sometimes cook up the boneless belly meat. Tom

Be careful if temperatures go above freezing and it rains for a few days. I have seen good ice get bad, really quick, with a few days of rain and temps in the +'s. Tom.

I have been thinking of purchasing a Garmin Map76Cx because I have heard nothing but great reviews about them. The price you quoted for the Map76 CSx ($375) is the best that I have seen so far. Radio World and Durham Radio both have them on for $449 Canadian. I don't think you can go wrong with the purchase of the Map76CSx. Tom Edit: Forgot to include "great" reviews.

For us up here in winter wonderland that is normal snowfall, at least it has been this winter. I guess it could be kind of tough though, if your not use to it. Stay safe and watch for those blue lights. Tom

From Matzuo website that Lew posted: To contact them: Matzuo America Incorporated 4770 "C" Forest Street Denver, CO 80216 Phone: 720-941-9400 Email Us At: [email protected] Looks like their security certificate expired in 2006, that is the warning Lew was talking about. Certainly not a secure site to buy from but it does give the above address and email to contact them. You might or might not, get an answer if you email them. Site doesn't look like it is maintained at all. Tom

I have to agree with Roy about this one. In Midland when the Grain Elevators and CNR property at the end of Yonge Street was put on the market, some of the lots available showed water rights going with them. I was kind of surprised to see that happen. Tread softly. Tom

Definitely being dumped on here. Not a very nice day at all. Visibility very, very bad at times. My driveway is full again, but that is nothing new lately. Stay safe. Tom.

A friend of mine is going through the process of replacing his gas water heater and furnace at this time. He phoned the gas company and told them he was going to use an electric water heater because the cost of replacing his chimney to put in a new gas water heater was too high. He was told they would pick up the gas water heater for $150 or he could deliver it to them at no cost. He lives in Midland so it would cost him $150 for them to come from Barrie and pick it up. What a rip off. The gas water heater he has is 20 years old. Tom

I agree with fattening him/her up because I can't see him/her at all. Page can't be found!!! Tom.

It is not just the pensions and unions that are causing the Big 3 their problems. When they were on top they didn't really care about their customers complaints or concerns. They knew they had problems with certain cars and instead of dealing with them they just kept pumping them out and to hell with their customers. Lose one customer and get another. Well, times have changed and what comes around goes around. I bought a brand new F150 and within a year the paint was falling off. It was a two tone red and grey and the red was coming off in tiny pieces while the grey was coming off in huge chunks. I contacted Ford and complained. I had to go to my dealer for the "tape test". They put masking tape on the grey paint and pulled it off. Chunks of grey paint came off with the tape. When they did the test on the red nothing came off with the tape. They said they would paint the grey but not the red even though there was quite a bit of red missing. Less than one year after they repainted the grey I had rust pin holes in my door. The motor died after 6 years and I had 50,000 km on it. Never again will I buy a Ford. I also bought a few GM's too. My Grand Prix had paint coming off in certain areas and I also noticed other Grand Prix's had the same problem in the same places. I went and talked to my GM service manager and he said that all Grand Prix's that were made around 93 had this problem because it was in the design of the car. He said GM knew about this but wouldn't make any changes. After 4 years the parade to the garage started replacing one part after another. I am pretty sure I replaced almost all the parts on the car including the gas tank. I changed to Toyota in 2003. It was made in Cambridge Ontario. Tom

Warming up Maureen, now up to -3C and still looks like spring. Certainly is different seeing Toronto getting the white stuff instead of us. Hope the Weather channel is right about the light amount of snow we are suppose to get tonight. Of course you won't hear any complaints from me if we don't get anything at all. Tom
