Wow Wow Wow Wow!!! One of the best trips I've ever taken was in the Chapleau Game Preserve....and it was amazing walleye fishing. But I went into the park, and paddled for a few days into the interior...I'm super impressed that you put this trip together and drove right in. Okay...the portaging was insane, but clearly worth it....well done boys! WELL DONE!
Sounds like a nice trip...aside from the finger incident. I really love Temagami...but when you posted the pics of further north...oooohhhhh....even better! I always get a bit tingly when going by the arctic watershed sign
Good post, Michael Brown...I've driven by that lake many times and wondered about it. And yes, you can't go wrong with the shop in Glenora...great bait and tackle shop next door too....he'll give you lots of good info as well. Good luck!
My first thought was north, like somewhere on Nipissing for big pike and eyes, but I have to say Roy's idea is a darn fine one. I've been on Lloyd's boat in the fall, and Roy is NOT exaggerating....totally worth looking into.
I went down last December....had a hard time living with myself for not bringing the rod...lots of great opportunities by simply hiking/biking down the road....never mind the resort itself for the odd 'cuda or bonefish
FishHawk you say....I've heard the name, anyway. More shopping...woohoo! I believe the temp difference...was in Minden on the weekend and the top 20 feet were in the 70's, while 30 feet down it was low 50's!
Excellent report....and what an incredible day! I'm curious about the cannonball speed....does Tony have a sensor on the actual cannonball? I never realized you could track the speed of things down there.
well it sure SOUNDS like a nice day....but for some reason the pics aren't loading. Way to go with wranglin' the craws for bait
NEver mind....pics loaded...right after I commented Lookin not too shabby there
Had to laugh at the title of your post....was pretty sure you omitted the " mark to indicate it was a 43 inch musky, not that you caught 43 muskies and didn't take any pics LOL
Nice fish...they sure are exciting...I haven't chased them for a couple seasons now...definitely miss it. Also love how musky lures are referenced by their price, not size
3 Mile is one of those lakes that can surprise you with all kinds of species....interesting that people are getting a lot of catfish...when I started fishing the lake 25 years ago (ouch!) I would hear about how it used to be filled with them.
The most memorable fish from my trip to Spider lake came while trolling a shad rap wayyyy back behind the boat. Caught about an 8lb. laker.....mid summer. Couldn't duplicate it....seemed kinda flukey...but there ya go. Sounds like you've got the right bass tackle though...bring some topwater lures for calm times...
What a fantastic trip...don't get much better than that...thanks for posting it up. I spent a summer on Nipissing close to the mouth of the French...what an amazing place
This thread may very well be proving that controversy is great advertsing...I'm definitely thinking about planning a trip up there. 'Course, the 40% doesn't hurt either
The last few seconds of the bass vid look awesome, as it's swimming out of view. 19 vacation days left?!?! That's plenty of time to drive up north and harass Wayne
I wonder if it's actually legit, or if someone is ticked at their neighbour for leaving it as an eyesore LOL If it doesn't leak, it actually looks like it could be an allright little rig.
Grews are still around...lots and lots of them on Gull Lake in Minden....Canada's highest volume Grew dealership is down the road outside of Kinmount. Good boats...never seen a fishing model tho.
Try WALSTEN MARINE, JohnnyBass...they might be able to hook you up.
