Seriously -- can I go fishing with you? Honest to goodness...every one of your posts could be the trip of someone's lifetime....this one was off the charts. THEN, when we're supposed to be coming down slowly, after all the heavy breathing with those fish....you drop the Hell's Gate / Thunderhouse pics on us? I was almost in tears -- stopped breathing for a minute, no question. Thanks for sharing!!!!!

that is one insane crappie, and an awesome story/thread! WAY TO GO!!!
-
awesome pics...my first guess on the walleye was 8lbs based on the length, 6-7lbs based on the pic. But 7 is a nice round number.... for the snag -- that's why I use power pro --- wrap it arond the handle of the net so your rod's not absorbing all the shock, and give'er! If the line breaks, then you send the young lad up the tree Great report -- gotta love the French!

Nicely done --- I know you were looking at ice for a long time waiting for that weekend Thanks for sharing!

Yup -- Happy Canada Day everybody I shouldn't be online so late in the morning, but, oh well. We are ALMOST ready to head out and take a few casts.... have a good 'un!
-
sweet! Well that sounds like a plan..and looks easy to get to from what I see on Google Maps. I've heard about people fishing down by the Legion....is it worth finding?
-
Hey all -- I have to meet a friend in Orillia tomorrow afternoon, but since we'll have the whole day, the lovely Laker Jessy and I are thinking about heading up there early to take a few casts. I've only ever fished at the Atherly Narrows for perch...but I would assume could catch the odd bass or pike in there now? Any other particular spots I might try from shore? Or better yet...does anybody need a couple people to pitch in for gas in their boat tomorrow morning? LOL Any helpful hints would be appreciated....and Happy Canada Day!

great report and pics!

really can't find any used ones? That's surprising...betweend Craig's List and Kijiji, there's usually some good options. When I was looking for a used one around the middle of July last year, CTC put their 16' Coleman RAM-X on sale for $400 ... me and my buddy split it...not the lightest thing in the world, but was a good deal at the time. I think they are under the Pelican name now...looks like the same boat.

WWWWOOOOWWWWW....those are some nice fish!

From the posts I've seen about Guelph and Mountsberg Conservation areas, I would be trying there....I think they should be relatively close to your neighbourhood. Or head down to the Grand River....seen lots of good posts about the action in Dunnville....why not try it out?
-
Are you close to a border? When I plugged in my old Rochester zip code, they were at every WalMart, Dick's Sporting Goods and Gander Mountain in the area.... ???
-
Wow...what a great pile of pics! Thanks for taking the time to post all those

Holy Crappie!!!! Nicely done who the pic??

Droooooooooool.....nice fish! Methinks it's time to start planning to get in on this Lakair biz-niz. Thanks for the post!!!

Yup -- DT Minnow, which goes 7-11 feet, has a minnow-like profile with what they say is the wobble of a Shap Rap. I grabbed one of these and the DT Flat 7 ...with coffin shaped lip, of course Nice colour...the X-raps they had were too small for me to be tempted...although the colour looks very similar to the Olive that they already have. It's unique shades and bright stripe stand out more on the DT Flat 7 Can't wait to try mine out! Oh, and for those whoe are fans of the good ole' Tenessee Shad colour on their Shad Rap, it's back on that DT Minnow, 'cept it's called Bleeding Copper flash, or something. Had to buy one....my old Shap Rap is starting to show it's age.

pretty sure I saw a Tacoma with a V6 and manual tranny on the OFC classifieds Wow..so sad to hear how deep the hurt runs from people who have had bad experiences at dealerships. That's why I drive past 10 or 20 stores just to work at the place that I do....I get to treat people right, and management doesn't harp on me for it. IMHO the best truck is the one YOU like the most. Get out there and drive a few, and good luck!

Ooohhh....nasty pic, JediAngler -- he looks pretty T.O'd right there!
-
Awesome report -- thanks for sharing! Great pics of your boys too
-
nicely done, rain or no rain! And the fiver just cut your cost per fish way down! I wonder if someone thought they had to pay for the boat launch and didn't know where to put it?
-
Wow....miss a day, miss a LOT! This is great

I don't snell my trailer hooks, but, I usually have a couple hooks at different depths when ice-fishing my live bait line. I think I will try snelling those ones next winter...looks like it might prevent some tangles from feisy minnows. Good poll, Jed!
-
Certainly lots of them on the road, but, so small that a much more practical car will probably carry everything it can, and be better on gas. Unless you need the 4x4....still pretty small for a truck though. With the declining prices of trucks these days, you could probably find a better sized used truck out there. Like on the OFC classifieds, for example. Or my car lot

the pic with the deer in it's mouth looked a bit suspect....either way it's one big gator. And if that Warden really is 6.5, I don't think I wanna mess with him either!
