Sorry -- never been to that particular area, but I would think that by the location, you're in a pretty good fishing area...gotta be some bass in there...hopefully someone on here will be able to boost your confidence
-
I think that's fantastic news!! Now you will have nobody to blame should things go awry again The other good thing is that you and your passengers returned safe and sound...with a few fish to boot.
-
Speedometer, signalling devices, running lights...none of them function. But the radio comes through clear as bell! Seriously, that guy is lucky to be alive...WOW!
-
You should definitely be trying these places out...even a pre-fish from shore in the evening or morning might give you the proof you need to come back with the canoe. We eagerly await your report!!!!
-
VERY nice! Well worth the drive!
-
you know what? you're crazy!!! Excellent fish, REALLY impressive that you do it sitting in that Kayak...good job!!!
-
Phenomenal largies!!! Clearly an under-fished species in those weedy backbays of Nipissing...well done!!!
-
Hard to believe that it's nearing the end of August already --- sounds like a very nice fish! How deep were you trolling? The summer I worked on Nipissing, I remember just starting to get into the big ones around now, then had to go back to school
-
Nope...not the one by the gov't dock....I think that's Island Marine...they're okay, from what I've heard...just never got around to renting from 'em. Never had a problem at Westshore...they're on the uh...west shore of the lake.
-
Okay...I'm searching ALL OVER google maps for that shoreline....still haven't found it...but getting close I think So much for the dog days of August, you are doing great! Keep the pics comin....I though you said something about pike and muskie????
-
Here's the only place I ever go when renting a boat on the 'Bog....you could look'em up, but I saved u the trouble....good luck! Westshore Marine 2175 Whitfield Road, Port Perry, ON L9L 1B2 Telephone : 905-985-2658 Free Call Email : [email protected]

If you did that, would it not also free up the space along that whole wall of the boat? Enough to mount some of those horizontal rod holders, meant for the wall of your house/garage? Then you could have them all stuck to the side, stacked on top of each other, and be all slick lookin'
-
great pics and report! Looks like you came away with some great memories
-
they won't sit between the middle passenger seat and the wall?
-
that's one heckuva post, MelPiker! Informative, detailed, and really, not very biased. Now I am SUPER curious to hear whether or not PikerIII goes, and how it ends up if he does!
-
Wow -- that is a tremendous transformation!!! very well done! I have not had to personally battle with quitting smoking, but I have heard great things about the aforementioned book....
-
WOW!!! A fantastic report, AS ALWAYS!!!!!! What a great week Next time you are down in Eriau, try fishing around the marina just outside the entrance to the provincial park...nice bass and the odd bowfin there, for one heckuva fight
-
I had to laugh out loud when you mentioned grabbing your paddle! From the description at that point, I figured you were in a motor boat....glad you made it back though --- u ended up with a great story
-
you might also want to invest $8 in a thermometer if you don't have one...can be a good way to find the depth at which their ideal temperature is...60 - 62 degrees, if I remember right..?
-
well, as long as someone eats them...I mean to just catch 'em, kill 'em, then not enjoy them would be terrible. Or illegal....so...here kitty kitty...

I've never stopped to fish it (sorry...that's NOT what you want to hear), but it sure looks like a busy, fairly heavily populated lake. There are lots of little lakes in the area that I would choose over it. On the other hand, maybe everyone thinks that, and who knows -- it could be an over-jet-skied, under-fished lake. But I'd head down the road into Orrville, and see what lakes you can jump on, or, on the other side of Oastler Park Road, take James Bay Jct. road, Blue Lake Road, Three Legged Road, all lead to a few lakes with decent fishing.

Hey, what goes around, comes around....pretty soon "retro" is gonna be all the rage, and Mooselook wobbler's will be a commodity One of the back lakes I've been fishing just warmed up to tube jigs this year....only about 10 years behind the trend...just like me!

Well that's the great thing about this board... a lot of the people on are down right honest, and speak their minds. We all have bad days...and there's certainly nothing wrong with being reminded that we should ask ourselves why we DO post every once in a while...kind of like "you should constantly look at life from a different perspective" a la Dead Poet's Society

I still have a Mann's bucket o'bait....lots of goodies in there that I should really use more often! I know where I'll be stopping next time I'm in that neighbourhood! Thanks Lundboy!

Then what John F said.... Then all the puns, and, booyeah! you've got all you need to know! I can't say that I see many people saying "Oh, nice pics, and...what techniques were you using?" It's more like "where where where???"....I think that more people should engage in discussions about HOW, not WHERE...but again, that's what PM's are great for.
