  1. sweet deal! Can't wait to see more pics now that you broke the curse!
  2. WWWWOOOOOWWWWW!!!!!!! That sounds like a fantastic trip, and well worth the wait Thanks for taking the time to post those great pics
  3. I'm pretty sure he's right...unless of course you've picked a lake with a year-round open season on them...like the one I'll be fishing this year for stocked fish, of course...
  4. And nice rainbows at that -- way to go! I have to re-read the post though...missed the part about the swimmer...
  5. I remember seeing an article about these a couple years ago...apparently they use them on the highways in Japan for EXACTLY that reason, fishnsled.
  6. No problemo, Bucktail...just leave your boat and we'll fill it up with fish on Sunday -- LOL
  7. X2 Seriously though, you've come to the right board for advice on carp...some serious pros on here.
  8. really nice report and pics -- thanks for sharing! I've never been to Espanola, but really want to go....(isn't that where Canadave lives? ) Your girlfriend sure looks a lot like you in all the pics though lol
  9. My cousin who lives in Port Credit says the river is starting to smell pretty fishy...they gotta be in there...where's all this rain we've been complaining about NOW?
  10. you know...Laker Jessy would be happy to ride on the back, but... I don't think she'll be much help digging it out either
  11. yeah...that is a beast and a half...WOW! I think the other estimates are looking pretty close, ie. 48-50", 35-ish lbs. For heaven's sake, send Rick your height...the man will give you a pretty darned accurate number on that fish! Again...way! to! go!!!!
  12. I personally LOVE Michelin X-Ice tires in the winter...had them on a similar sized vehicle and they're amazing! Other people swear by the Blizzak's, and I don't think you can go wrong either way. My dad made the mistake of getting the Canadian Tire ones, 'cause "they looked the same!". When the temperature dropped, they firmed right up and were pretty useless for him. My vote for the Jetta: X-ice! I put four 205-55-16's on for $700 taxes in, no rims. I don't THINK the tires on your Jetta are as low profile as that, so you might be able to do a bit cheaper. Good luck
  13. That's what I would do...sounds like you just want to find out where this person is going to be okay with you fishing...if you can at least have some dialogue with them, they may realize that you're not doing anything wrong. Okay, I'm optimistic, but at least you'll get a chance to prove to them that it sure doesn't look like you're doing anything wrong. Keep us posted!
  14. some awesome fishing and family time....not a better way to spend a week, methinks. Love the shot of the HERO'S, lol, and of the little guy with the huge bass
  15. Hey are those heart-shaped sunglasses polarized? Could help you out in the boat... Nice report, and well done!
  16. Well said
  17. HHHMMMMmmmmm....sounds like a day trip in the making....at the very least
  18. What an AWESOME honeymoon!! Congrats on the marriage and the great trip...still searching the archives for parts 1 and 2....
  19. We'll more than likely just paddle around on Tea...thanks for the advice on Smoke Lake! It would be nice to hop into another lake via short portage if only for the adventure...once I get the old park map out, I'll have a better idea. Thanks, Robell
  20. *cough* driftsock! *cough* nice report...I can't wait to try the Pattie house...been driving by it all summer hearing about how good the food is
  21. Never knew that Arrowhead had decent fishing...only been x-country skiing in there in the winter...thanks for the post!
  22. what a tank! nicely done
  23. Well I got last minute reservations at the Tea Lake campground in Algonquin for Saturday and Sunday night...not planning anything wild and crazy, just a bit of laid back car-camping with my wife and 8-year old son. We'll bring the canoe and rods for sure...just wondering what anyone's experience has been in there...or if any lakes that are close by are worth jumping into for the day. Any and all responses appreciated, as always
  24. Maybe someone has illegally released it in there? For it to get that big naturally, there must be more than one...and pike being so aggressive, you think they'd be hard to not notice. On the other hand, the lake my parents are on has always been a strictly bass/walleye lake...but every few years you hear of someone claiming they caught a pike in there. ???
