  1. It's even worse when you've got a really long float rod, and it's more convenient to ask your buddy if he minds sucking on your tip for a second...
  2. Wow...really impressive!
  3. That last pic looks like it's stuck.
  4. I did hear on another forum that it's skimmed over pretty good...but try calling the local baitshops...they should know...
  5. That's a great unit...I got lucky and picked up a GPSmaps 76cx on Craigs list for almost that much...should be here soon Can't wait!!!
  6. WARM, waterproof ones! Gore-tex is always nice.
  7. Well...the big guy can't be too far away from you, Drifter...drive down the road and knock on his door
  8. Nicely done! Way to be creative and use the dock
  9. Sweeeet!!! Snow tires have been on for 2 weeks now...already got to try them out in the white stuff up in Muskoka...I just don't want too much snow wrecking the perfect ice-forming conditions we've got going on! I know of a certain shallow weedy bay that freezes up quick....and this year I'm determined to pull a couple walleye out of it
  10. Ouch...sorry to hear, man. Sounds like it was a good 'un
  11. Beauty report, Wayne -- nice to see Terry and Dano out there too! Awesome fish
  12. check the facebook videos, 'cuz
  13. I hemmed and hawed over the windbreak, and it was some of the best money I ever spent. True, it will catch the wind if you're not in it...but if your attentive, it's not a big deal. Either fold it down quickly when leaving it behind, or take a few minutes to anchor it in. The metal legs dig into the ice pretty good....my only regret was not buying two, because as you can see above, the wife uses it more than I do! You can sit in that thing and not even realize what the weather is doing...especially if you're lucky enough to be facing the sun, but have your back to the wind...it's surprisingly useful. Also great for sneaking up on whoever's in it and dangling fresh bait in their face...which I have video footage of...but don't know how to post
  14. yeah -- 'cept you do it in a FWD GrandAm, which makes it that much more impressive
  15. that's insane. They finally figured out the roof was the only safe place for the POV cameras...they keep moving around the car all through the clip
  16. With all the snow tires going to Quebec, you should grab whatever tires you can...mine went on two weeks ago last Friday, and by the Monday my supplier's costs had risen 30% I've sent a couple people to him, and he's already unable to get certain sizes, because of the crazy demand
  17. Go for it! Let us know how it ends up
  18. Great post, Skeeter -- thanks for the info!
  19. Shee-ooot! nice bass!!!
  20. But remember to show up ahead of time...don't greet the farmers at their door wearing your gear all ready to go. Someone on here had a great post about that ('cept he was looking to fish on private land) -- had a few cards printed up, came across very professionally, sounded like a good way to go about it.
  21. Bag all the way! So convenient to carry a couple trays plus other stuff that won't fit nicely in the bottom of your box. Like your drift sock, for example...that I took home with me from up north and is now riding around the back seat of my Jeep But getting back to how handy the tackle bag is....you can have your big monster box of tackle, and when you go targeting a certain species, pack a couple trays and have a nice LIGHT, easy to carry bag, that goes over your shoulder leaving your hands free. Instead of a big box full of tangled lures, that either won't open or close because of tangled hooks inside it.
  22. Sweet! I was wondering about the Maitland...a friend of mine just moved out there and has property backing right onto it. A friend in need of a visit, methinks...
  23. Naw...I think if you hit Sarnia you've gone too far! Oh wait....you're coming back up from MI...right....never mind 5 hours?!?!?! Maybe iceslayer has a plane?
  24. Yeah...which makes it exciting getting ON to the ice though...and back off at the end of the day I found some fantastic articles on the Outdoor Canada Website, about late season pike through the ice...worth the read. Just hit their site and click on articles..Gord Pyzer's got all kinds of pike articles. But to get to the question of WHERE...yeah, I'd look at NW Ontario...already some great places named on this post
