  1. Nicely done, man! No bottom bouncing required, eh?
  2. Now THAT'S a boot!
  3. Yeah..the laker trip is going to be a game-time decision....forecast is cold and rainy...not nice in a canoe....but we'll see. Limey -- it's your slip-bobbing reports that have motivated me for these wallies....if I can't get the canoe in the water, I have a couple spots to try from shore.
  4. Some people's children!
  5. Heading up to Muskoka tonight...don't think it will be worth re-oiling the motor and putting the boat in, but my slip bobber rigs and Gulp minnows are ready for some shore walleye attempts, or, if we can justify it, the canoe may go for a swim on a smallmouth/lake trout lake that has a year-round open season on lakers....fingers will be crossed, inside a warm pair of gloves Anybody else heading out this weekend?
  6. WOW! that is crazy --- and funny I suppose you wouldn't have much choice but to just sit there and remain calm, seeing as she had her calf with her...could it not be a dangerous situation if she felt threatened?
  7. Nicely done!!! With pics like that, you should be posting more often
  8. That website is pretty cool -- nice post, Nemo! I guess if the guy in the shorts can catch them, then there's hope for all of us?
  9. Okay -- I'm still trying to figure out the rig --- the bottom of the three way swivel, in particular. You jam surgical tubing onto the swivel, and wedge it there with lead..what dangles down? A pencil weight? I suppose how heavy depends on the current...are you picky on the length of the line going to the weight?
  10. wait a second...aren't you guys going hunting on Friday? Didn't you say in your deer report that she's off that day? Of COURSE you got everything ready to go today....you won't be at home tomorrow!
  11. that is hilarious! You sure set the bar high for Friday though
  12. Way to go!! Enjoy
  13. excellent shots -- there's a few with a small red tree on the rocks across the water...that thing's on fire!!!!
  14. sweeet....confidence rising...urge to kill fading.... thanks again!
  15. Thanks for the feedback guys! My initial thought was to start at Burnhamthorpe and work my up (after checking the regs of course...I think I'm still good to do that). From the sounds of what you guys are saying...should I maybe start at Dundas and head up? Going Thursday morning, btw....
  16. what a great report...not a hunter myself, but I can sure see the appeal. Nice work -- good luck on Friday.
  17. Well, of course heading out for a morning of fishing is always worth it...but just wondering out loud...should I expect much? Thinking of heading down to Erindale park to try a few holes this Thursday morning...will be bringing my small spinners and a float rod to try drifting some pink worms under. Any tips, hints or tricks would be GLADLY welcome. Might even consider heading to Oakville if it gets enough votes, and if my fishing partner wants to go that far before heading to work.
  18. Hmm....how do I ask this the right way....? Would these be public access spots that I could probably figure out on google maps? And, uh...again if you don't mind...what kind of water are you hitting from shore....depth? weed cover? Nice post by the way...thanks for sharing!!!
  19. I'm going to Cuba next month! This is great info....didn't think about bringing my own rod...but it kinda sounds like a plan
  20. sweeeeeet
  21. No kidding! I just did an image search on Google, and this was the first one that came up. I picked one similar to it up at the bait shop in King City at the 400 infocenter, and I think it was still $3-something....good reason for the heavy lb. test power pro!
  22. Jedi, you've got a great outlook....thanks for sharing -- looks like the perfect way to spend the morning
  23. Steve -- when you put the tube on the Bad Boyz...do you rig it like a normal tube...all the way up to the eyelet, or such a small tube that it's just on the exposed portion of the hook shank? I picked up a couple of these last year, but never did anything with them. Here's a pic of a Bad Boyz, for those who are wondering....hey now that I look at it...doesn't one of our OFC members make these? Meegs?
  24. WOW. Those are really impressive!
  25. never mind staying dry...by yourself and slipping off the trailer....great way to break an ankle or wrist...good post to remind us how easy it is to think ahead and be safe.
