I guess these remarks are directed at me .. Dont have a clue at "what it is to FEEL LIKE A MAN" please explain what this man feeling is and I have hunted and fished all my life and Im still the size I was Genetically predisposed to be . I do want the rights to harvest the lakes and forests as my fore fathers had when the populations can support it . The ending of the spring hunt was just wrong . Most bear hunting in ontario is done over bait , this said (my first hunt was a spring bear when I was 13 with my grandad , damn was I so proud to bring home the meat for the family) so do not tell me mothers with cubs were taken , not hard to tell a male bear from a female with cubs when hunting this way . Fall bear is very fatty , lean spring bear is great tasteing and healthy eating. We outlaw pitbull like dogs ?? but bears , oh how cute theres a bear , or Im a man "me no afraid of no BEAR " . Sad when my neibor can feed bears in his backyard but DO not own a bulldog type dog... only in CANADA , a country that was built on the trapping , forestry etc. industrys , now its the hug a bear , tree ,porcupine , rattlesnake what ever , you bear lovers , love them all you want hopefully they will be eating you . and leave me alone ..

We have a thread like this at least 1 or 2 times a year . You will be with your guide for 4 days , by this time you will eather hate the dude or realy like him .. Let your heart deside .. Remember he/her is getting a small percentage of what you have payed for your 4 days ,I would give 10 /20 percent if he was good , nothing if he was bad .As someone who has guided for 30+years I never expected a tip , some times (and I should say most times ) being in a boat with great people you have just met and haveing a great time putting them on fish and seeing how much fun they are haveing , i.e. grand dad with grandkids , fathers with sons etc. is all the tip i ever need .But if you feel dude did a little extra feel free to tip , BUT DO NOT THINK it is expected ... Have a great trip and stop worrying the little things worry about how you gonna catch that big guy ...

Dude I have took people boarding in my 37 foot Tollycraft , 2 440 chrysler's , lots of pull , I just tie the ropes off to the side cleats and away we go ... Oh ya 300$ an 1/2 hour in gas is a little much but ??? I may be old but fun is fun . And boarding in a six foot roster tail , what the hell can it get any better ..

I find Spro makes a great frog maybe a little costly compared to some but they work well. Don't set the hook the very second that the fish hits the frog. Give it a chance to take the frog down, and then set the hook. Otherwise, the fish will be sucking in water and you will pull the frog out of its mouth before it has a hold of the frog.Don't think that because you tried to set the hook and the frog flies into your boat that is the end of it. Pitch the frog right back to that spot and more than likely the fish will strike it again,slow down on the hook I know its hard took me awile to get the timeing right , when you see the hit its hard not start setting . Fun way to fish

Saw these fish on that river monsters show with that guy Jeremy Wade, locals call them nut cutter fish . He catchs one and holds open its mouth to show the teeth that look alot like human teeth , they eat nuts that fall into the river and use their teeth to crush them .

Sorry dude but I cant see a Quilt shop makeing it for two anywhere , In Dryden no thing is gonna pay your bills now , maybe twenty years ago but now , Dryden's best days are long gone ?? Still a great dream and Dryden is a beautiful place. If you and the wife can hang in untill some kind of pension is available the quilt shop as a hobby second (third) income thing will work , retire to Dryden and fish and quilt your days away, but if you have not got enough money behind you to live ????? . Sorry to be so negative , but it is what it is ..

All I can add to this is Myself and all my Extended family have hunted and fished for over 50 years in Ontario and thu out Canada and the U.S. and NOT A ONE !!! has ever been charged by a CO . Been stopped checked out hundreds of times over the years , BUT NEVER been charged .. Its not that hard guys , read the regs error on the side of caution , no folding over the tails or streching them out to meet the slot limits , leave skin on fillets , no oss fish , if your fishing pike and all you are getting is bass MOVE, no going too close to damns ,etc. etc. ,Your only hurting yourself because if you truely love fishing YOU WILL DO EVERYTHING you can to not harm the resourse .

Tiger for sure , Im not surprised . As the zebra mussuls cleared the water and sewage plants got better , the waters around Toronto became fish factories ,huge weed beds started to grow . Bass at the islands and any harbor , river mouth , pike , WALLEYES , etc. spawning in the newly formed weed beds . Lots of muskies in the Niagra , bofq , WHERE DID THE PIKE COME FROM ?? It will only get better , I have seen pike spawning on the spit(lots) that had to go in the high 40s , WHY NOT MUSKIES , did they just get to the lake and say see ya pike Im staying here , not a chance they and the walleyes and the pike go where the food is and where they have good spawning water .. No brainer to me , no one has gone after them to put together a pattern . Lake St Clair , lake Ontario between The Shawa and oakville , same place to me .

My youngest (hes now 19) was born when myself and my wife lived on our boat. Was not untill he was 10 untill we moved to a land house . Not saying Im the best parent but he allways wore a life jacket when out on deck and he took swimming lessons at age 2 by 3 he could outswim a tuna.. Accidents can happen , my wife was allways extra carefull(damn we were on a boat water all around us not a pond next door , but things happen I allso will not take sides , only to say , CHILDREN AT THE FIRST CHANCE SHOULD BE TAUGHT TO SWIM , but even with that people that can swim still drown now and than ..

They start out dry but once I start the retrieve , no telling what will happen ...

WE allways before the trip (and many here all ready know this ) make , tie .. what ever ,flys from our wifes Pubic hair . Sorry out of thread but you turned me on to that red neck thing "hatfields and maccoys " , only got to see the last one but it was so full of killing and just red neck drinking and messed up back ward Religious stuff ,I loved it ,keep up the red neck thing Billy ...
