  1. While i was restoring my ranger, they were a great source of advice, and let me know about a good deal on the motor I currently own. I would not hesitate to vouch for them.
  2. I always wondered why they put so much engineering into a one use item?
  3. That is not how you do it, that will give you 24 volts to the motor. To get 12 volts, simply jump positive to positive and negative to negative.
  4. How to wash a toilet This was simply too much of a time saver not to share with you. 1. Put both lids of the toilet up. And add 1/8 cup of pet shampoo to the water in the bowl. 2. Pick up the cat and soothe him while you carry him towards the bathroom. 3. In one smooth movement, put the cat in the toilet and close the lid. You may need to stand on the lid. 4. The cat will self agitate and make ample suds. Never mind the noises that come from the toilet, the cat is actually enjoying this. 5. Flush the toilet three or four times. This provides a 'power-wash' and rinse'. 6. Have someone open the front door of your home. Be sure that there are no people between the bathroom and the front door. 7. Stand behind the toilet as far as you can, and quickly lift the lid. 8 The cat will rocket out of the toilet, streak through the bathroom, and run outside where he will dry himself off. 9. Both the commode and the cat will be sparkling clean Signed: Fido
  5. You are into a large repair, as Pikeslayer says were you transporting with a transom saver? If you look at the amount of work it is to repair this, you may want to swap everything to a different hull. However if you do go ahead and fix it the opportuntity is there to make it better and stronger than it was.
  6. That is a GREAT! idea.
  7. That much rot I would suggest you check your stringers too.
  8. Thanks Dan!
  9. Wayne, I hope this tread ends soon, for all the right reasons!
  10. You yankees are welcome here, we treat everyone poorly and do not discriminate against rednecks. Heck, we even try to out-do them.
  11. Judging from tghe tone of your posts, you are on the downs right now...When you wake up tomorrow morning, things will be the same but you should have a different perspective on them. Tomorrow morning try to list all the postive things that you can bring to an employer, look honestly at your skills and see what you have to offer. It may not look so gloomy after all.

    OFN

I came here looking for a boat, and stayed. Made many aquaintences and more importantly friends along the way. It is truly a strange phenomenon this board, I have no idea what makes it work, but it does.
  13. As well, if you wish, there is information to pursue in the obituary as to the charities of John's choice.
  14. I am deeply saddened by this news. John was a man who was willing to share his wisdom and experiences freely, regardless of the individuals worthiness. I am going to miss him, he was a great friend and a great person to spend time with.
  15. CHeck this video out Mike.
  16. I have seen that done with quick-connect air fittings and copper pipe.
  17. Awe inspiring!
  18. It may be that the grease nipple is seized and will not accept grease.
  19. I help builder turn roofs from this: To this: Or this:
  20. Wayne, why are you telling him to go to Hawaii? (I'll let you figure it out)
  21. OH!, LOOK a can of worms....let's open it!
  22. I had the same thing last week, it turned out that the key had fallen out of the impeller when the pump housing was installed. All the other solutions are valid as well. Just got to find out which one applies to your situation.

    Prop nut

This prop shaft does not have a cotter pin hole that I have seen. It has a locking washer that has tangs on it that are bent back to lock it in place. The retaining nut is a nyloc nut as well.
  24. I'd say both stories got what they deserved
  25. When tightening a prop nut on a high horsepower motor, how tight does it need to be and are there any common mistakes made with the "tang" washer? I am going to be experimenting with two props on the weekend and do not want to leave ~$450 on the river bottom...
