Judging from tghe tone of your posts, you are on the downs right now...When you wake up tomorrow morning, things will be the same but you should have a different perspective on them. Tomorrow morning try to list all the postive things that you can bring to an employer, look honestly at your skills and see what you have to offer. It may not look so gloomy after all.

I am deeply saddened by this news. John was a man who was willing to share his wisdom and experiences freely, regardless of the individuals worthiness. I am going to miss him, he was a great friend and a great person to spend time with.

I had the same thing last week, it turned out that the key had fallen out of the impeller when the pump housing was installed. All the other solutions are valid as well. Just got to find out which one applies to your situation.

This prop shaft does not have a cotter pin hole that I have seen. It has a locking washer that has tangs on it that are bent back to lock it in place. The retaining nut is a nyloc nut as well.

I'd say both stories got what they deserved

When tightening a prop nut on a high horsepower motor, how tight does it need to be and are there any common mistakes made with the "tang" washer? I am going to be experimenting with two props on the weekend and do not want to leave ~$450 on the river bottom...

Your front lawn has what appears to be snow mold or chinch bugs. To check, at the edge of the dead spot take a sample of the turf including the root zone, place in a pail of water. If the bugs float up to the top, there is your answer. You will need to apply a insecticide to deal with that. If not, then you need to apply a fungicide, and topdress and overseed the affected areas. To really green it up, rent a de-thatcher and go over it with that. As that process can be done very quickly, go in with a neighbour or two on the rental to cut costs. As for the driveway, round up. Now banned for public use, so the alternate is a weedwhip on an angle weekly.
