  5. If you fish Petro Park be prepared for the most disgusting display of sportmanship you've ever seen. The stench when the run is on will have you looking for something to cut the smell a bit.
  6. Couldnt agree with you more Rick---as I mentioned the area has become a real eyesore lately.
  7. Dont know the actual owner of the property but went for a looksee myself this morning (after the fact). The signage reads: private property---no access for motorized vehicles etc. Nothing about no trespassing but if you were to climb over the fence to gain access for the purpose of fishing there you could be charged. All is not lost however there is an adjacent parcel of land being used for farming purposes which is not posted and you can still go into the fishing spot by going around and following the shoreline in the water.
  8. Here's the situation---- There is a parcel of land within the city (which I believe is defined as part of the "flood plain") that has been used as access to the river for many years by fishermen, ATV/4wd drivers etc. Lately there have been abuses of this access from people dumping garbage and to be kind the whole area looks like a war zone-----deep ruts that would tear the guts out of a normal vehicle, garbage everwhere. Anyway----have been informed that there is now a fence erected complete with gates and NO TRESPASSING/ PRIVATE PROPERTY signs. So my question is this---if the land is designated flood plain would it not come under the jurisdiction of the GRCA???? Secondly seeing as there has been unrestricted access to the area for so long is it likely to come under the laws of "easement"???
  9. Some nice smallies there for sure. Good on ya for the c & R
  10. Looked at the river in Brantford this morning-----starting to drop and clear somewhat. Lots of algae floating around.
  11. Was hoping against hope for a happier ending to this story. My condolences go out to the family.
  12. It was featured on ch 24 as well. My first reaction------------wouldnt the anti's have a field day with that. Remember the uproar about the cormorant cull, and they werent even going to be used as food.
  13. I live in Brantford as well and you dont have to go too far from where you were to find other cars parked at another HOT spot. Didnt go check it out but wouldnt be surprised if there was some funny business going on. Dont know about now but a few years ago was out scouting the area, saw "the man" at the bridge and after when I went to another spot same guy pulls in and flags me down. Wanted to know if I had been fishing and after a short chat found out at this time of year they keep a close eye on a few of the local hot spots.
  14. winmx is still around----some files wont play for some reason but there are usually enough other files of the same tune that you'll get one to play on the puter. they check the download for content but wouldnt hurt to scan with an antivirus just in case.
  15. Btw boys and girls------there is NOTHING wrong with your puter. The PERCH QUEEN done got schooled

  19. If you have a crockpot this pretty good----might want to cut back on the barley tho. http://southernfood.about.com/od/crockpotsoup/r/bl16c2.htm
  20. Recently went in to CTC to pick out an ice fishing rod---there were about 1/2 dozen of a brand name for a reasonable? price. Started sorting thru them for whatever reason, there were three with the tip eye misaligned-----dont know who does the buying for them or if they have anything like a "quality" check as they stock them. Guess they figure WTH some shmuck will buy it anyway.
  21. Hardly original( the reply that is) but that shot of the hot chocolate is bang on Thanks for sharing
  22. Dont get me wrong, I did my share of hunting bunnies with a shotgun. Put the guns away years ago, too many restrictions. One of the best spots I hunted on a regular basis got caught up when they extended the city limits to include the property I used. Have fond memories of going in there on a frosty fall/winter day and put up bunnies just about everywhere you went.
