Geez I didnt think anybody used snares that much anymore. Had a bushlot my Dad and I set snares in when I was a teenager----did all right, usually stopped setting them out mid January.
Not into it so much now----dont "really" need the meat----get turned off on the whole experience. Maybe its just me getting mellow, just doesnt seem like the most humane way to harvest a couple.
Was at Port D last Saturday and fishing was very slow. saw only a "few" brownies caught and they were small by comparison to what had caught back in Nov/ Dec. Looked like they may have been some returning that had been stocked. Dont know where all the bigger fish went or the bows that had been present.
One good thing I've noticed down there is the number that are C&R .
from fresh water----the 3 "P"s
whitefish, bows, brookies, char
from salt water----cod, halibut, haddock, cant forget the best of all even if its a "shell"fish-----scallops
I hate to burst the bubble on all fans of Rudolph (trnr) but he is neither a genetic freak or under the affluence of inkahol.
As lead reindeer he takes the "heat" from travelling that fast and THAT is what lights up his shnozz being the most forward portion of his anatomy.

Cant say much about walleye altho from what I've seen people are doing well on them.
As for the bass that's a different story----above Caledonia the bass are thriving, just a matter of finding the locations where they inhabit. Right now they're on the feed bag and some good size ones are being caught.
Very sad day in American history----my condolences to all who lost loved ones.
The image of the second plane hitting the building and just disappearing is one I'll never forget.
You might want to give the Bighead in Meaford a shot as well if you're going to try for bass.
There is/used to be a Kids Derby on----last time I was there lots of small bass but you could get surprised sometimes.
It used to be called green board but now all Home depot carries is the "blue" board. Both will do the job in the bathroom for you.
BTW stuff is not moisture proof-----it is however moisture resistant. If sealed properly takes a lot before it breaks down.
Have eaten RB over the years----used to get some with my Dad in the spring. Took them home fried them up, Mom made french fries and if we were lucky had some wild asparagus to go with it all.
Didnt get any better then that.
