  1. 6 th anny of my quitting smokin today, feel pretty good but get the odd little craving still just doesn't bother me anymore
  2. bassboatcentral has a great classified section if searching for bassboats, thats were my next ranger will be coming from
  3. they all work well if your a serious troller then terrova works awesome set a track and troll dead straight all day long it'll correct your kicker motor, downside is the safety overide keeps it from being used in heavy weed areas it'll kick out, I use mine bass fishing and holding in areas deeper than 8 ft have minn kota talon for shallow water anchor, my maxxum cuts through the thick stuff without to many issues the odd time it'll kick back at me but i like the speed of the cable now i am used to it just takes some practice
  4. with large lakes you can't go wrong with lund, alumacraft or crestliner. lowe and starcraft are decent brands as well and don't forget about princeraft. always found lunds to be the smoothest and dryest boats on the planet, where any tracker product you need a raincoat on even with slight chop on the lake. legends seem ok but they just compress my spine i find them rough boats
  5. i have seen this problem on chrysler many times it can be a toss up of different issues i have seen switch a couple times, blower resistors account for 80 percent of the problems, and have had to change two fuse boxes for fan issues, get your test light out and start checking power and grounds
  6. kawartha bait and tackle in lindsay was able to print my sticker, wonder who got a raise at the mnr for thinking this wonderful system up
  7. awesome, you can pm a report to me if you don't want to offend sleds on sturgeon last two days and solid ice out front of my place. rigging sticks right now for some panny action
  8. as much as i would love to have a frosty cold beer out in the boat, i leave it in the fridge for when i get home, besides water is a better drink when roasting in july sun all day
  9. thanks for sharing terry, are you sure it was safe out there only 4 inches of ice didn't even get a sniff on my lake today but wasn't out long
  10. to day at 1:30 pm south shore sturgeon lake, i was running around checking thickness and looking for some decent weeds, wife took this:
  11. pretty sure the mnr guidllines specify 4 inches, i was out today in 4 inches of good ice, why all the alarm if you don't feel comfortable don't go
  12. walkin around on sturgeon no probs yesterday was around 4 inches of ice once i got off shore more than 2 ft ventured bout 100 yards till the spud went through
  13. one option is going used if you can afford an extra vehicle, seen lots of mid 90's grand cherokees selling in the $1000-$2000 in decent shape, yes there tough on fuel but they can pull just about any kind of fishing boat under 20 feet, run into stuff go into some nice back lakes a jeep will get you there parts are pretty cheap and widely available and with all the help on OFC you can keep it running good for a long time and if it blows up oh well no big loss if using it as a weekend vehicle
  14. looking foward to going out to the mountains and try highmarking, but wanna use this sled
  15. http://www.royaldistributing.com/main/index.php?option=com_flippingbook&view=book&id=14&Itemid=458&firstPageNumber=316 i also use this one application lasts about 400 km and really seemed to help slider wear on my yamaha, fast traxx slider lube
  16. spring steel ones work great, as do the ski mounted cable ones, there is also a fin style that can screw to the inboard side of the ski that is supposed to work well and you can go in reverse
  17. they were good little work horses that would go just about anywhere, wonder what they will replace it with? maybe a stretched phazer or something
  18. the tacomas are a solid mid-size truck, nothing wrong with em, toyota kind of missed it with the tundra, but there getting there. I'll be getting another truck soon i am leaning towards another z-71 offroad seirra, just something about thoses seats
  19. can't keep diff's in tundras anyway, why service them? I service all kinds of vehicles and they have there issues the extra money of a toyota product isn't worth it imo
  20. diesel would be nice in anything, 3.0l jeep cherokee diesels, had 2 customers with them and they raved about fuel consumption, friend of mine with the duramax with a 8 inch lift and 35's gets the same mileage as my stock 4.8l z-71 sierra, whatever you decide most of the mid-size and full size get very comparable mileage go with the one that you like
  21. nice! thanks for sharing
  22. toyotas are nice but for the size of there engines the do get terrible city fuel mileage, friends with a 4 runner and a honda ridgeline actually use mor fuel than my 4.8l v8 seirra in all conditions all similar power i figure
  23. i go old school and stagger my weights down the line no two weight the same size with the last one no closer to the hook than 18 inches up to 36 inches, but i don't do that kind of fishing anymore only place I'll stand shoulder to shoulder is the beer store
  24. awesome your out and fishing, catching hopefully soon, son looks cute on the polaris xtra lettuce tomato sure wish i could take mine for a rip
