  2. Just out there tonight. Nothing doin' except for a guy caught a couple pike earlier in the evening. I might go back for pike next time.
  3. Love the colours on a brownie!
  4. Hey everyone, before you all crucify this poor guy please read this thread he posted earlier so you can see what really happened. http://www.ofncommunity.com/forums/index.p...mp;#entry108642
  5. I entered. Sounds cool.
  6. You might be right Squid. I just started the thread to talk about MNR funding. It may be starting to get a little off track
  7. Nice job! It sucks living in the east end. I have to wait until shore fishing at Bluffers heats up.
  8. I long for the way life was before 9/11, everything seemed so carefree. The world changed that day and I hope one day we will be carefree again. Today I will remember the victims, the families and the heroes of 9/11. Not only did 9/11 bring out the worst of our society but it also brought out the best, one can't forget the rescue workers who risked and lost their lives as well as the Canadian families who lent a hand and help stranded passengers in newfoundland.
  9. I think if we create awareness that he has pledged this it would force him to be accountable for his promise. Hopefully we can spread it around so it doen't get buried as a footnote on the OFAH website.
  10. Saw this posted over at the OFAH website. What do you guys think, legit or lip service? http://www.ofah.org/GetPDF.cfm?ID=News/Joh...etter090107.pdf
  11. I really enjoy the reports from the Nith. Keep em coming. Just waiting for you to catch the biggie
  12. Hi Mikey, here's some info I found about Shock Leaders from another site Shock Leaders. Shock leaders were first used by Sea Anglers and adopted to Carp fishing by the first Anglers to start to fish for Carp at distance. They consist of a heavier breaking strain Monofilament line usually between 18- 25 lb and enable us to launch heavy weights long distances with the aid of large test curve rods which could not be compressed with normal main line. There are many knots that may be used to join 2 lines together here below are the 5 most common, starting with my all time favourite the " Mahin knot " this knot may seem complicated to tie but believe me after a bit of practice you will have it off to a tee, when this knot is tied properly you will have a very strong conned shaped knot that will glide through your rod rings with great ease. I would suggest you try them all however and see which one suits you and your type of fishing. Which ever knot you choose you should always make sure that all the components below the knot can slide easily over the knot in the case of a break.
  13. I think you might be better off getting a heavier braided line. 8 pound test would take a loooong time to bring a big boy in and increase your chances of a snap off. 30lb braid minimum would work well I think.
  14. Anyone been spoon chucking at Bluffer's recently? Any staging Salmon around? Thinking of hitting it up sometime this week if it's worth it.
  15. Wow what a monster! Did you get the measurements? Since it's your biggest fish maybe you could get a replica mount of it.
  16. That would have made me really angry....You should have started yelling and flipped them the finger. It's the universal language of disgust
  17. Great story and fish!
  18. From what I've seen on here I think your work is fantastic!
  19. Excellent habit to get the kids in. My dad always made me catch and release.
  20. While Rock Bass and Sunfish might not be the best for the eco-system, I also see these people taking perch upon perch upon perch. When I was a little kid perch were everywhere, knowadays they are a rarer catch and that's no doubt due to the pressure put on them by panfishing harvesters.
  21. Sweet ride!
  22. As far as I'm concerned just catching a muskie is an accomplishment no matter what the size. Post the pic
  23. Congrats on the PB! Great Muskie and report.
  24. Have one boat paddle up to the leader and hold on to his boat. The next paddler paddles over and holds onto the canoes already in rafting position until everyone is together. This creates a stable based for giving and recieving instructions.
  25. There's a discussion in this thread about them http://www.ofncommunity.com/forums/index.p...mp;#entry111128 Seems to have a great reputation from the guys here. I'm going to be ordering a spinnerbait kit from them
