  1. So I suppose apples should be called fruit of the forbidden tree. If everyone that called them pickerel, does that make them right.
  2. Nice info, makes you wonder where the name walleye came from.
  3. The ones I have are called Quad gear ATV mitts, Royal Dis't also carries them Visi-control muffs, page 22 of Royal Dis't 2018 catalogue
  4. Hahaha, I know what you mean when it comes to some people. When you tell someone where to blow the snow, he almost managed to fill the entrance door at one point.
  5. Not to poo poo CH312's idea on the snatch block on the winch/plow, we tried that a few different ways, it does work, but.. sometimes if you let the cable out too far, on retrieve it can jump the pulley and get caught between the sheeves, a royal pain to take apart and fix. Secondly if you're a wee bit over zealous on the "IN" side of the switch, you can really jam the winch cable into itself like a birds next on a levelwinder, another royal pain, and part of that you can either snap the cable or cause things to bend and really stress the battery. Been there, and had to fix a bunch of things other guys didn't understand. Good luck. Another item that works well for me are the handlebar muffs, large enough to go over the brake handles and throttle and switches. Mine have a plastic window on top to see everything, not expensive, if you want the brand/model, I can dig that info up.
  6. There comes a moment when you have to make a choice, I think I'd be going to the store, I mean you have to go there to get the rest of the groceries anyway.
  7. Maybe a ram holder for your GPS.
  8. Winch when to try to go places you shouldn't, hand warmers for winter, a basic tool kit although most come with it. I like my fairing, keeps the wind chill off, has a quick release set up. If you're going ice fishing, get yourself a piece of pipe or angle iron about 12 inches long, heavy duty eye bolt in the middle so you can drop it down the hole in the ice to winch yourself out. An extra 50' of good braided nylon rope or recovery strap. If you're going to use it for plowing, I would highly recommend an electric ram. We used our ATV's/plows at work and went through a number of winches, solenoids, cable and hooks. Winches are made for straight pulls, not over the roller fairleads in and out all day. The electric rams have upper and lower auto stops, so no worry about "stretching" things. Installation is less than 2 beer. Here is what I mean: https://www.ebay.com/itm/WARN-84600-ProVantage-Electric-Plow-Lift-for-ATV-plow-systems/152889348949?epid=209872661&hash=item2398ea5355:g:6AIAAOSwvoxb6P9w
  9. Because it's also located in the owners manual and right on the B pillar door jam or gas cap door so there's no excuse.
  10. Go with the Michelin Defenders, Costco has a darn good warranty program too.
  11. Hahahaha, what's the first thing I get to hear (read about) this morning, 2 guys having a domestic, there goes another keyboard. ?
  12. That's beyond brass nuts cold. I can't vision trying to pee in a snowbank at that temp and windchill.
  13. Ah yes back to TV. Anyone in the golden horseshoe area should take a look at off the air TV signals. A basic UHF antenna on a pole or in the attic will work. There's over 50 channels, free.
  14. Don't know if it's factual that the guy choked to death, bad if it is. After reading about it about 2 years ago, a quick inspection of my BBQ grills at the trailer confirmed that there were at least a dozen or so broken off stainless bristles that could have become embedded in the food being grilled. The brush was garbaged and grills thoroughly cleaned.
  15. You have more patience than I did, took a look, started it and quit after some of the pictures.
  16. I guess I must be the oddball, spinning reel, cast right hand, retrieve left. Trolling rod, hold right hand, retrieve left. I write right handed but most everything else, hammer, cut, saw, eat is left handed.
  17. Well there's UBER, LYFT and maybe Terry can do SLIDERS, lol.
  18. Is it just me or are the regular graph f/f's getting wider and wider at the expense of having better resolution when you're in deep water. It seems like they're squeezing the picture vertically so they can accommodate multiple screens. I think I'd rather have the height of the picture to see from top to bottom.
  19. Worst I ever experienced was living in tents in Wainwright, AB in Jan '81, -52 with windchill. Had a tire on my jeep trailer break, a piece actually broke off, you could see inside but the tire wouldn't flatten it was so cold. Naphtha would barely light, had 2 tanks for the coleman stove, at 1 hr 55 mins for 2 minutes you'd put the next full tank on the stove to warm it up. you talk about peeing icicles. Anything with a motor ran 24/7, if it died or you shut it off, 3 hail marys to get it to start again.
  20. Five Star in C/wood, don't know anything about him or U Catch Em in Meaford, he's good.
  21. I'm sure a few of you have seen the info on these things, guys using them for ice fishing, etc. problem is, they don't fit into any particular category for licencing and insuring. So before plunking down the cash, read below, I sent a query to MTO about a month ago and finally got an answer today. Thank you for your e-mail regarding the use of Snow Dogs in Ontario. Based on our current assessment, we have determined that the Snow Dog does not meet the classification requirements of an off-road vehicle (ORV) or motorized snow vehicle (MSV) under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA), Off-Road Vehicle Act (ORVA) or Motorized Snow Vehicle Act (MSVA) regulations. ORVs and MSVs riders must meet registration requirements, and must obtain either a plate or permit to operate their vehicle on Ontario roads or lands (i.e., provincial highways, trails). Vehicles that do not meet the ministry’s requirements may only be used on private property (i.e. property must be owned by the vehicle operator or the vehicle owner must obtain permission from the property owner prior to operating their vehicle on the property owner’s property). The Snowdog may also be operated on crown land, unless the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forests (MNRF) specifically prohibits public access to certain specific lands. Operators of the Snowdog must consult the MNRF to determine whether there are any restrictions in place which could prohibit operation of the vehicle on the land which the owner intends to operate the machine. Thanks and please feel free to contact us if you have any additional questions.
  22. That trailer is a disguised power source to keep the truck and trailer moooving?
  23. Probably go with the one above for the price. If I'm not mistaken the OEM one is around $400.
  24. Hmm, if I had to go to that much effort and time waiting for a coffee, I'd be having withdrawals. Good thing is I have absolutely no craving for that kind of java?
  25. Put a sail on it and you'll be in Beavertown in 10 minutes.
