  1. ^^Everytime we catch a stick and bring it in we call it a walleye.
  2. Stream wise there is not alot. Canadian shield is no great trout factory water. Check out the upper Coldwater only thing I can think of. Not sure what access is like.
  3. For Engleheart/Timmins/Swastika area for some trout fishing. Checking out some info we have and fishing other spots that weve fished before. Hope to have a nice report next week sometime
  4. What are conditions like up there right now. Thinking of coming up this weekend.
  5. OOS Stands for Oh Okay Sure (Im "pike" fishing)
  6. Hey thats a nice work of fiction. #1 rule --NO PHOTO- NO FISH!!! Next time break out the camera or none of us will beleive you
  7. Ive got lots of pike in the spring fishing shoreline using porko's. They are mostly average size but I did get one 33" once. Be prepared to catch a lot of OOS bass though. It was during on of these spring excursion for pike that we actually found an old dead guy floating in a back bay.
  8. If your in Cambridge you should go fish the Bond Tract of Mill Creek this month. Its a bit more technical because of the size of the creek but a beautiful setting and Way underutiziled since the take off of the Grand River Fishery
  9. I would imagine the tail is beat up from the rigours of spawning. Nice pig
  10. I would pick Sparrow, anyone can catch fish there although it can be crowded on weekends
  11. And carrying the beer is always worth it. We use to go in for a week and bring two senkes (Picture a restaurant soda syrup dispenser)which amstel use to sell out of the beer stores. People would laugh at us on the portages but we were certainly a very popular campsite in the evening. Our old football coach who introduced us to the park many years ago(RIP Ray) ran voyager outfitters. And he use to always find an excuse to come for a visit in the evening.
  12. I have caught a wack of smaller muskies there up to @44 inches. Most of my luck has come in the northwest part of the lake. At that time of the year burning bucktails across cabbage bed is very productive. Start at Rose Island in the NW part of the lake and work your way around to Beaver Island. Cast to all the cabbage and any good looking structure that you see
  13. That report was great. Actually made me miss early season BT's in the park. Ive avoided going for a long time because its got to be such a zoo. You may have convinced me to start doing it again.
  14. I know you said Kawarthas but you also said a similar distance. I would go to Long Point PP or Turkey Point PP over the Kawarthas any day for a family vacation. Amazing beaches and clean water. Great fishing. Three sites together might be tough without reservations though so book early.
  15. I love catching landlocks on the flyrod we get into them bigtime on the surface during the caddis hatch in Labrador. They dont quite have the power of a steelhead but man do they put on an ariel display. Great catch!111
  16. Plus they would die in a fish tank unless you had a unit that would keep the water cold.
  17. Once bass season opens Alders a great place for flippin pads for bass.
  18. Wow amazing speck!!!!! Good job and for sure square tail and blue halos.
  19. Check along Whitemans Creek at the CA Property 2nd weekend in may special on my menu Fresh Brook trout and Fiddlehead Risotto
  20. Congats on the son. Now you can say why dont you and the daughter go shopping I'm going to take Luke out for some male bonding(fishing)
  21. Ive done it in a very small trib with a large steelie that I bet some one I could do it before we electofished it. I was successful measured and weighed fish and released unharmed.I didnt throw the trout on the bank though just grabbed the caudal wrist and other hand under the belly.
  22. Two things stick out in my mind. First I was drifting this run for specks with a jig and worm. Reached the end of the drift and was reeling the combo back to the canoe. It was twisting and bouncing on the surface when five feet from the boat -Boom 16 inches of beauty brooky Second I was fishing for musky when I saw a bunch of minnows bust in a back water. Cast my jerk bait to it two pulls- wham Stupid steelhead showing up at a musky fishing adventure ,oh well at least she got invited to dinner.
  23. And if they were GB fish any lamprey scaring? Those LT are beast.
  24. I love catching fish out of new water after a winter of research. Great job and beautiful fish.
