  4. My son has a ballgame at the Hall of Fame tomorrow and I have to have him there an 1 1/2 early. Thinking of fishing some of the quarries right along the road there. Can anyone steer me in the right direction? How, what, where?
  5. On Erie if the dent is coming from anywhere its the commercial fishery
  6. Definitely the Notty lots of them there if you know where to look.
  7. Yup also referred to as white perch
  8. Im pretty sure its a fisheries offense as well. Thats the fish ladder they are fishing at
  9. A measurement not used in Canada despite our governments insistence particularly when it comes to giving the length of your catch

  13. That my friend is a beautiful fish
  14. I too find it hard to beleive John or Dave I could totally see it.
  15. Just an FYI for all those that continually slag the Grand River Bass Derby. The money raised goes to the Stanley Park Optimist club and the funds go the improving access for fishing to those in wheelchairs handicapped etc. Thats why there is all that new trail along the grand out near Victoria . Does Natural profit from the derby-yes-it boost sales a little bit for a couple days for sure but thats it. Do you think McDonalds is entirely altruistic with McHappy day.
  16. Drifter read what I said, "Most of the water up there"- Fergus and Elora Inverhaugh. And the special reg fishery is the whole reason troutfitters exists. Ken opened the shop to cater to the special regs flyfishing crowd. That's more what I find ironic.
  17. Im curious as to which store you wont even walk into. Would you be surprised to know that the owner of Troutfitters was the manager of the store on Victoria St for about ten years. Ken's actually a good guy but we all have our bad days. I'm actually shocked that they are selling minnows as most of the Grand up there is non organic bait.
  18. Bait-casters are all about the heavy line. Line that doesn't sit well or cast well from a spinning reel. For Mono thats anything above 10 lb test. I'll use up to 25Lb braid on a spinning reel. Anything above those lb test I use a bait-caster. Its hard to find a good spinning rod that will handle heavy lines(15-100 lb) and lures(2-6 oz) so if you want to fish in the garbage or toss big baits a bait-caster is almost a requirement.
  19. Thanks for that Solo. Man I gotta get back to my Lake X in LSPP. Gotta walk through 25K of overgrown logging road to get to it but like your lake well worth the effort to get there. If any one wants to know which lake Its Jungle Lake look it up and nice trecking PS you'll need a belly boat no way you can haul a canoe in.Your an inspiration Solo and obviously Bill didn't catch anything worth taking a photo of. Ah to have crows wings.
  20. I use this jon on a lot of portage into lakes, great boat for it, easy for two guys to carry and very stable.
  21. Man nothing like a feed of fresh mud-pout. I use to catchem and eatem like KFC when I was a young lad never did me any harm. I even had kids although I could argue that my son is an idiot.Although I think every father would probably say the same thing about his teenage offspring.
