Last Saturday, we launched at Sibbald's, at 6:30 am , and headed straight to Willow Beach. By 7:30, 3 of us had our limit of Whiteys. The weather was miserable and there was only one other boat there that early. After an hour or so, the blue skies opened up and all the boats came out. We were fishing in 80 FOW and easily caught 20 Whiteys (and 4 lakers) before we left at noon. We're gonna give her one last shot this Saturday. Then its up to Pigeon for Musky ! Meely

Question: I am in the midst of selling a boat. On the back of the original Licensing (Registration) Form ( from the dealership ).....it mentions the Vendor must notify the customs house of the change in ownership. Does this still hold true (is it the vendors duty or the purchaser's) or have things changed since I bought the boat 8 years ago? Secondly, where would I find the motor's serial numbers. Im thinking, if I pop the cowling off, the numbers should be on the top end of the motor there somewheres...no? Thanks for your help, Meely

I had a craddle sitting in my closet for about 2 years. I finally decided to give it a try last summer. I was trolling believers when I got me a nice ski. Out comes the craddle, craddle the fish in the water, one good thrash and I got me a craddle stuck with believer hooks. I had a heck of a time trying to pull each hook out. After that, I rolled her back up and put her back in the closet. I think she'll stay there. Frabil nets are the only way to go now. Meely

Well, Saturday, we are planning on hitting Simcoe, for half a day, for a final whitey assault. We headed out last Saturday and had another incredible day. Im still icing my wrist from all the hook-sets. Then, the boat goes back on the trailer and up to Pigeon we go. Pigeon Lake is my home lake and I can hardly wait to get out and hunt an essox or two. We had some pretty kewl action for last year's opener. We were out for approximately 4 hours and managed to raise 11 ski's. No biters but a whole heap of fun just the same. 9 of the 11 fish rasied were all out of shallow water. This year we are going to continue trying a technique mentioned in a Muskie Oddeysey a few years back.........focus on "chaos and turmoil"(basically anything different on the lake.....IE.....where fast water meets slower water etc). We began using this technique and had some fantastic results last year. Lure of casting choice chartreuse boo tail........deadly We'll probably stick to the northern end of the lake......so...if you see a black lund with two burly "eye-talians" ( 1 in a Gilligan hat)........say HELLO !! Well, I just got back from a quick jaunt up to Pigeon Lake and the mosquitos were/are relentless. No mercy. I would recommend long pants/sleeved shirts and lotsa, lotsa bug spray !! Meely

Hello gang, I may be in the process of selling a boat. If and when it happens, I was wondering what type of info to include on the bill of sale. Obviously, I will have to hand-craft it.....any suggestions? Thanks, Meely DAILY THOUGHT: SOME PEOPLE ARE LIKE SLINKIES - NOT REALLY GOOD FOR ANYTHING BUT THEY BRING A SMILE TO YOUR FACE WHEN PUSHED DOWN THE STAIRS.

Well, I have decided to give spring Whiteys a shot this weekend on Lake Simcoe. Bein' more of a Musky Maniac, I have never really targeted them alot before. I have read some good results from OFC'ers who have ventured out and figured "What the heck". Can anyone suggest where to fish ? It seems like everyone mentions "Look for the pack of boats" but Simcoe is a huge lake and that could take some time as I am not quite familiar with the lake. I have a deep V with a 90 Merc on the back so...Im figurin I should be safe. I would also appreciate where to launch and park if possible. I have been hearing a lot about Williams spoons and Bad Boyz so I have run out and grabbed a few. Should I use regular mono or would an 8 lb power pro be better? Thanks for any info, Meely

Hello gang, I'm in the midst of selling a boat. I have been doing some research and have discovered that certified cheques etc are not always fool proof. Cash is always the best bet but is not always feasible. What steps would you guys recommend to help reduce the chance of fraud? A Louisville ?? Thanks, Meely

It's REAL simple.......... If it ain't yours to give away......dont give it away ! How would everyone feel if each Bank Teller gave away $.16 of your account balance every day? It's only $.16 right? Who's gonna mind ? Meely

Thanks Roy. I think we got it ! Jeeze we got a good bunch on here. Meely

No probs. I'm glad it worked out for ya. From the marina, you have access to a ton of water (Little Bald, Big Bald Lake, and Pigeon). Not sure if your staying in Buckhorn but its only a 10 min drive if u are. Maybe I'll see you on the water. Meely

Hey AG , I just called Oak Shores Marina and spoke with a Margaret. She mentioned she has a 14 and 16 footer available still....... HURRY !!! Meely

Check Oak Shores Marina. They are located on Little Bald Lake which connects to Pigeon Lake. http://www.profilecanada.com/companydetail...a_Bobcaygeon_ON Meely

Don't forget the motor and tongue length. Sometimes tongue length can be the deciding factor and make all the difference. Meely
-
If you can afford the difference and have the storage space.....go bigger. You can always use less of a 16 footer....but never more of a 14. Meely

I have just taken the boat out of storage and have her dockside. I noticed I have a problem with my radio. It does not want to turn on all the time. If I turn it off and on continuously, eventually it will "catch" and turn on. Then, if I turn it off it may or may not turn back on again. I then have to go through the whole routine again and eventually it will turn on. What do you guys think it might be? Meely
