You are right Gerritt. Just wrong choice of words. It is a privilege to own guns, but still does not change the fact that the guns are still out there in the wrong hands, but the legal people have to suffer as usual.

I think the gun registry is a joke, and they have been trying to ban hand guns in Canada for a long time. Just look at what you have to go threw just to own guns. Just look at the differnence that it made in gun related deaths and injuries, I wonder how many of them were registered. This is why I mostly hunt with a compound bow, less aggravation. Even if they do ban them, they will not go away and the thugs will still be able to get their hands on a hand gun. Pointless stupidity if you ask me. WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO BARE ARMS as long as you follow the rules. My 2 cents.

Well on Tuesday Dec 11 I get the call that I am on my way to the hospital, I think He is on his way. I work down town Toronto and had to get to Bracebridge Hospital ASAP to see my baby boy being born. Conditions were crap freezing rain in Toronto then freezing rain and snow further north. After the 3hr journey to get there, meet with the Doctor and he lets me know what is going on and that evening my first baby was born and he weighed 8lbs 15.5 oz. What an experience to be there and whitness the birth of my son, and will never forget that day for the rest of my life. Here are a few pics of the little guy. Merry Christmas everyone.

I was out this past weekend on a lake near my house, and there was 5" of ice plenty to walk out on. I also caught a few fish too.

I have a the Clam, Yukon and it is great. Very easy set up a little heavy but the comfort of padded ajustable seats plenty of room is worth it. It makes it easier to pull if you get the sliders that are extra but saves the bottom of the tote also. I use my ATV to pull it unless the ice isn't thick enough, but like the rest said you will have quite the workout getting out there if there is lots of snow and your pulling it.

I have had this happen to me twice, and I have finished the animal off. I couldn't just drive past and not do anything.

WOW... What a buck, that truly is a magnificent animal. Congrats to the hunter, I dont think he will beat that PB. Post the pic when the deer mount is done.

For me it would have to be a jig without a doubt.

Congrats Bill, sounds like you had a great time with your family in the field and water.

Wow, I thought I was quite clear when I posted this! Do you eat meat? Or wait let me guess you buy meat from the store and forget about what also happened to that animal for it to end up on your plate I just have the nads to do it all myself from start to finish, I have nothing but respect for animals and the way they are harvested, clean and quick. I am proud to be a hunter and a fisherman I love what I do and NO one will ever tell me any different. It is people like you that burn me, that they can be so negative towards hunting, but go and buy a big T-bone and put that on the BBQ but that is OK with you. I think you are a hypocrite and should use some common sense before you post negative comments about other peoples posts. Rooky, congrats on the doe. And thanks to everyone else that had nice things to say.

Thanks guy's. 4 more tags to fill so we got some work to do, but if it don't work out with the bow we have shotgun/muzzleloader season in December and there will be more brown down. Shoot em straight Jay

Well we managed to get our first deer down after passing on a lot of deer, but it is time to get some meat in the freezer. Not a big rack but nice body. My Dad and Bro left work early Friday to get out in the bush, they were all set up for 3:30 not long after that my dad spotted a nice doe feeding towards him, but he knew there would be a buck trailing her and sure enough after a couple of buck grunts he showed himself. They both fed towards him slowly, then the doe stopped about 20yrs away the buck kept coming to the scent bombs he placed out infront of him about 15 yrds away, did the loop around and came infront of him at 3 yrds. He looked up and thought he was busted but with good back drop didn't have a clue he was going to get stuck with an arrow, turned slightly quartering away and he let the arrow fly. Perfect shot lung and heart he didn't go more than 40 yrds and piled up. Here is a few pics. Hopefully more to come but is shut down for bow for the week due to shotgun season started today.

That is truly awesome what you have done and learned over this period of time. Many just don't understand why we all hunt and fish. I provide a lot of meat for my family because I hunt and fish. I was lucky enough to be brought up around it, and when I was 15 the first thing I did was get my hunting licence and joined my dad and brother in the field. I wouldn't have it any other way, I love to hunt and fish and will NEVER stop. Great report Jen and I look forward to seeing you with a deer soon, get out this weekend the chase is on this weekend. Beauty fish there Solopaddler. All these posts you have been doing really makes me want to get back into river fishing. I used to do a lot but don't know of to many places around me that I can access without getting into trouble with land owners, since I moved in May. I also have a hard time juggling hunting and fishing this time of year, I usually choose hunting. Good luck this weekend.
