  1. Yeh, what is up with that no pics . Still sounds like you had a great time, but we want pics, we like pics.
  2. That's great. Congrats to your lady on her pb, that is a nice carp.
  3. He taught you that you have to have hourseshoe up your ... to catch fish. WOW that is great info . Not to be rude but, I think we all know that you need a little luck on your side to catch fish, and also the proper baits to be used in certain conditions, time of year ect........ Just my rant.
  4. I used my old Hummingbird that way for a long time, but I found that a big battery can be a big pain in the butt. I ended up getting a gel 12V battery from Cabelas, it is small and compact (about 10"l x 3"w x 4"h) the less weight you have the better. Now I have a portable one that runs off AA battery pack.
  5. I wish I could get this right the first time lol.
  6. Just thought I might share these with you all. A few nice pics of the waterfall and a few little Brookies that I caught, just a 10min 4 wheeler ride away from my house.
  7. Thanks guys. Yeh he just loves to fish since I have introduced him to the sport, have a hard time getting off the water now, he just wants one more cast lol. Next is upgrading him to a spinning rod and reel maybe Santa will bring him one.
  8. OUCH, that looked like that hurt a little.
  9. I guess it didn't have room for all three pics, so here is my step son with his biggest to date.
  10. Well sorry for the delay everyone, had some computer issues yesturday, I couldn't get my computer to burn a CD of some pics to bring into work. I got it working last night and here is a few of the smaller fish I caught on friday, I couldn't take pics of all the fish the little guy took the first two pics but didn't want to take anymore cause it would take him away from his fishing lol. The last one is my step son with his biggest bass to date.
  11. Nothing better than when a plan comes together. Nice fish and post.
  12. Well Friday I decide to take my step son out for a couple of hours to do some fishing. It was good job that I did the bass were feeding up before the front coming. I only shut the motor off and BANG 2 1/2 lb lmb, so I put him back get the kid set up and no longer than I pick up my rod and he had a little bass on. Was his first lmb 8" he was thrilled. Set him back up again let him at it, I cast out my 6" Worm again and my line starts running, lay into him another 2 1/2 lb lmb. As soon as I put him back the little guy has one on again this one was a little better 1/2 lb lmb. Took a while to get him to hold it but he did and released him back to the water. Not to long after that I hear him yelling I got a big one, I look over and his Sponge Bob fishing rod is bent BIG time, he just says I can't hold on anymore and it let go. It must have been a good bass, I thought he was going to go water skiing soon if I didn't help. Over all Friday was great I ended up getting 8 bass in about 1 1/2 hrs ranging 2lb - 3 1/2lb. Just made it to shore and down came the rain big time. Sunday went back out in the morning took my faithfull companion Cody (Yellow Lab) out to do some fishing with me. Caught a few 1 1/2lb bass and a 12" perch. My buddy ends up calling me askes what I was doing and that he was coming up, so after a couple of hours I took the boat back home, met up with him and hit the water again. Hit the usual spots pulled a few 1-2lbs out, then switched up and hit some other spots. He put on his jig and pig and I stuck with the worm, started to hit them pretty good he got a couple of 3-3 1/2lb and a few 2lb, I got 3, 1-2 1/2lb then switched up to a spinnerbait and caught 3 more 1/2lb to 1 1/2 lb. Over all not a bad weekend.

  23. I don't think it will hurt the genes, because that buck that maybe the dominant buck at the time but has probably bred a dozen or so does in the 3-4 years, so his genetics will live on anyways. Most of the time the larger bucks when chasing the younger bucks away from his lady or ladies, another smaller buck will seek up and give her one for anyways. Deer are not stupid by any means and any hunter knows this, them big old swamp bucks just know something is wrong even when you think you got everything in your advantage, I swear they have a sixth sence . Myself I give the first couple weeks of the season to check out how many does and how many bucks we have on our private land, then I will make a dissision whether to shoot a buck or a doe. Usually I target the bigger bucks so the smaller ones get to grow and get bigger for years to come, but it doesn't always work out that way. I too hunt for meat and fill the freezer with what ever I can harvest during the seasons, moose, bear, deer, rabbits, ducks ect.... Love the wild game meat Hunting is a sport that not too many people get involed in anymore, and most people think it is crule. It is no different that someone going to the store and buying a steak, the only difference is I worked hard for it and I killed it with my own hands, not a butcher to do it for me. I also process all my animals that I harvest.
  24. WOW, now that is a report. Looks like all of you had a real great time, good on ya. Some real nice fish caught. Thanks for sharing
