  1. These are great tires. They are an all season tire with a snow rating. I had them on my last truck and they were great. I will be getting them once my tires from the new truck wear enough to replace. http://ca.coopertire.com/Tires/Light-Truck/Discoverer-X-T-sup-4-sup.aspx
  2. They have ruined my dad’s house and land! They are all around his place.. All I hear in the bush hunting now is WHOOSH, WHOOSH... Every 3-5 seconds. My head hurts everytime I go hunting there. Now a 230Kv is being run 60' behind his house, no matter how much he has fought them!!! There seems to be no rules for these yahoos that just want to destroy the rural communities.
  3. I was just up in Callander Bay last weekend, fishing was great! Between 5 of us we caught 75 picks, 6 pike, 16 perch and 2 whiteys.
  4. Thanks for the heads up Joeytier.
  5. Sounds like it will be a little rough out there for my trip up this weekend!! We are using sleds and a ATV so it shouldn't be too bad. Need some snow to cover to smooth it out! Can't wait to hit the ice Friday morning...
  6. All kids should know how the food gets to their plates! My 3 help or watch with everything from chickens, deer, bear, bullfrogs, squirrels, ducks, geese, rabbits and fish. They love to eat it all too.
  7. If you choose a compound bow, there is a lot you need to do before you can just get one and go hunting! You would be best to (if you choose compound) not to hunt big game this year, too much practice is needed to make a clean kill. Enter some 3-d shoots and get used to getting your yardage down. Practice is the key and a good mentor if you can find one. Please don't rush into it, it all takes time, practice and knowledge.
  8. With the long weekend coming, please keep your eyes open! If you see anything that the police are looking for give them a call. I know this man and used to see him every day, my kids always enjoyed talking to him as I did also. Thanks http://london.ctvnews.ca/search-continues-for-missing-eugenia-man-1.1428731
  9. Nobody can give me an update on the ice?? Just want to know how thick the ice is over to fox and if it is safe to bring my snowmobile.
  10. Hi, just wondering how the ice is out from IBP on simcoe, I am heading out on Sunday I want to make sure it is ok to bring the sled to get to laker grounds. Thanks in advance. Jay
  11. Congrats on the bear. Sure they do good work, but I had mine done by a guy for less than half of that and it looks identical. He does great work and a lot cheaper. If you have pets don't have that rug on the floor!
  12. On hunting trips, there has been SO many times that I have come out of the bush with only one sock on or tree bark in my crack!! But never had to do it on the ice....Yet The stories I have to tell my children!! LOL
  13. Decent young bucks you guys got, glad to see you filled your tags. I know around by where I hunt it was crazy with shots this year, but I still managed to fill my tag too Congrats
  14. Nice Bull you got there, congrats. Now you need to make room for the mount!!! I miss swamp donkey hunting, can't wait untill next year we are doing another fly-in.
  15. Lots os deer around. I have been out only twice and I have seen 9 so far, and one I could have hit with a stick also.... But it needed to be a bit bigger and my stick has a broadhead on it. I stand hunt and never have a problem being on deer, just need to find out where they are and their routes. I always fill the freezer
  16. Good for you on making that decision. That must have been a exhausting time for you and I am sure your kids missed you a lot. I understand where you are coming from, somewhat! My commute to work is four hours a day plus the hours I have to work, I too work in the mining industry, but I am on the engineering side I design the process plants and storage facilities ect… I wish I could spend more time with my 3 kids, but I don’t have many options where I am located at this point in time. Anyways, good luck with your new job and enjoy having more time with your kids.
  17. Your best to leave it over night in the fridge to let the meat settle. Other wise it will be chewy as heck!! Enjoy your exspensive turkey!! Hope you had full coverage on the truck, then it is only $25/lbs LOL
  18. It depends on how damaged it is!!! Unless you got a head shot I would pitch it, but by the sounds of it you got a good hit on it. I would pass on eating it. Deep fried has been the best for me, and you can cook that bird in 20-30 min
  19. Your not the only one with a crappy review about this place, I made one a few years ago too and that place was terrible!!! mike HT Good luck, you will need it! Also you will not be fishing from the hut so be well prepared for that and bring a portable if you have one, he will rent out huts to you in a better fishing spot. That's all I am going to say with this yahoo's operation.
  20. I can't remember the name but it is that little round restaurant in with the shell gas station and next to the beer store.
  21. I was heading up past there last weekend but I noticed that now hwy# 11 doesn't go through sundridge anymore! I was so looking forward to one of those massive panzerotti's. Give the outfitter a call 705-384-7948 if he is still operating. Good luck
  22. Not one worm in them, and they tasted great. Rod Caster It was a big walleye, but it gave me a good fight and I got to see it, it would have gone back anyways.
  23. I headed up there with my boys last Friday, what a crappy drive! Got there at about 3pm unloaded and got all the gear ready and headed out to our hut. Wasn`t long and I caught a big rock bass, back into the drink it goes. About 5pm I get a good hit and hook into a nice eye, get it up to the hole and just as the head goes to come up the hole he goes horizontal and gets caught under the ice and watched the eye swim back down . My eldest boy hooked into a nice eye and lost it also, then it went quiet so we headed back for some eats. The next day up ealry and headed out to our hut, I ended up catching 5 Cisco no walleyes were seen this day but we had fish for a fry. Sunday we all got Cisco again, 7 were caught this time and no walleyes were seen again. We marked lots but nothing was committing to our lures or minnows. Okimot Lodge is fantastic, the owner Tom was great and the accommodations where fantastic. Overall it was a great weekend with my boys and some good laughs. Here is a pic with some of the Cisco I caught. Cheers
  24. I am taking my 2 boys up there for the weekend to do some ice fishing. I have been there in the fall but never during the winter, does anyone have any info in regards to how the fishing is this time of year? I am just hopeing to get the boys into some fish. Thanks in advance Jay If you don't wish to post just shoot me a PM.
