Steelheading - what were they thinking????
Jay T replied to ccmtcanada's topic in General Discussion
I have seen this too many times in rivers for salmon, and got into many arguments cause they were using huge treble hooks and snagging them. Well needless to say some went for a swim in the river. -
You should have kept them and frozen them for the MNR.

Looks like you and the family had a great time. Thanks for the report .

LOL. It was only a 1 1/2lb nice eater and it tasted great. No seriously who told you guy's about my sixth finger and after consuming that fish, I also noticed that I now have a third nipple too. lol

I eat a walleye that I caught from Scugog last weekend, and I am still alive.
-
That's great, poor little bass. I have only had that happen to me with big pike with a perch on the end of the line. You will get him next time.

Those bush tigers are a pain in the butt, when hunting season comes around. You think a train is coming threw the bush. Those squirrels on the other hand make a great pie . Still nice pics though.
-
At least your consistent . Just kidding man, I hope your luck turns around. Bowhunting you say eh, my kind of hunting I love it and will NEVER stop. Been bowhunting now for 13 years. Just more money you will need to spend .

WTG ADC , sounds like you two had a blast. I have had a few Gar on but never landed one, I don't think I would want to either. Congrats on the near catch, and good report.

Looks like you guy's had some good fishing. 70mph bass boat, I am lucky if mine boat goes 7mph LOL.
-
Sorry guy's first time I have seen it. Just thought I might share.
-
Don't know who this is but just got it in an e-mail. Thought I might share the pics. What a monster pike. Supposed it attacked a 36" pike that the guy had on, and would not let go of it. He did not hook the monster pike. It weighed in at 55lbs.

WOW, that is a beauty.

ADC, I am going to Lake Vernon in huntsville this weekend for some good pike and bass fishing. Maybe another weekend just pm me and see if we can arrange something. No internet at home, only at work. Oh yeh that chip truck is yummy Scugog-iceman, yeh there is trout in there still just hard to catch, I caught a 3lb trout last spring.
-
Yeh ADC the bite is real tough, you got to work hard and cover a lot of water. The popper was working for me at first, but I think it was doing more harm than good, but once I put that little torpedo on dam thing works like a charm every time. I have caught so many nice bass on that lure. Are fishing from shore? Let me know if you are coming up to Eugenia.

I was finally able to afford to get my boaters licence after the ticket I got for not having it. So I went out last night at about 7pm got set up with my trusty top water popper, on and first cast got a 1lb smallie. Seen one of my buds out there went over to say hi and took a quick cast near a cluster of rock and BANG 2 1/2lb smallie . I had to laugh he was fishing that area before I pulled up, and he didn't get a bite. Then we both went on about our fishing and he nails a nice lm on a buzz bait about 3lb. After that he took off home. I went to a few other spots and switched up to a mini torpedo and caught 6 more lm and sm bass nothing huge but still was a fun night. Lost another nice sm at the boat about 2 1/2lb also. Sorry no pics, I was in a rush and forgot my camera. All were put back to fight for another day. The lake has had a lot of pressure on it in the past month, lots of boats out there during the week and weekends. Makes it hard fishing when that much pressure is on them fish. Over all it was a good night for the 1 1/2 hrs that I was able to get out and enjoy catching some fish again Jay

I know for a fact there is Lake Trout and Whities. I have ice fished there a couple of years ago with a few buds and we did really good, 6 whities from 1lb-3lb and 1 8lb laker in 4 hours, and we lost 6 other whities at the hole. I have never fished there on soft water sorry, but it is not a huge lake should be able to find something biting if you got a couple of hours to kill. Good luck

What kind of fish is Alliston? I have fished in Alliston at the dam and never caught a thing. I have fished north of there and caught some nice Salmon in the fall, drifting flies and eggs.

That is a great report and really nice pics, thanks for sharing. Looked like you two had a awesome time.
