I'm starting to look forward to your reports. There is always an unusual turn of a phrase or two of interest...and then there are those nuggets that one has to patiently wait for but when found make the wait well worth it. I can picture chrome typing with bowsheep pacing behind her and the subtle interplay between scribe and sage. An age old battle once again relived in modern times.

I'd vote for this resort on Lake Nipigon. http://www.mccollumsresort.com/resort.htm The place is clean and well run. Nothing fancy but great value. The scenery in the area is stunning with very little boat traffic. You see maybe a boat or two if any, on any given day. Bring a small boat and there are plenty of backwoods fishing lakes that will amaze you including some bass lakes. At the "resort" you are right on Lake Nipigon so if you have a large boat you can fish for some world class lake trout out on the main lake. Near the resort there is perch, pike, and walleye. The top of Superior is just stunning. Oh and check out the website for their lake Nipigon fishing tour. Met two American older couples there last year. One set came from Texas and stayed the whole summer. The other from Ohio and stayed a few weeks.

Gloat away But don't leave us on the hook...give us all the details down to the colour of socks you were wearing and what cereal you had for breakfast. All of us wannabes drool over that sort of information.

Trip is getting a heck of a lot cheaper by the day. With the dollar at par the wife and I talked about Florida for the first time in 15 years.

It's 35 million earmarked for fish and wildlife (read hunting) programs. Granted any extra money, or fraction of extra money, would be nice, there are much bigger fish to fry in this next election.

If you haven't rented the documentary, Grizzly Man, it's worth a view. It's an quirky morbid flick about Timothy Treadwell. He was infatuated with Grizzlies and in the end stopped using common sense. Well, I have a different opinion... why not at least use the advice of others who have done what you want to do as a starting point for your search? I can recommend "U" catchem out of Meaford. I believe he has at least one big boat that could run multiple lines. The guy who owns the operation is very friendly and would be accommodating to a bachlor party group. Simply let him know what is up. He also has a female captain who got a friend on fish last fall. She is supposed to be good. I'm sure there are lots of good charter operators in Ontario. Ask people who fish.
