  1. Now that would be something! If only Lake O would freeze over.
  2. Hey Dara, a friend of mine has a real nice rod "case" I guess you could say. Same design as a gun cabniet, except wood with a glass door. The top part has a shelf with a light where he puts the reels. Looks really sharp.
  3. Loving the levelwind too Spiel! Especially in the winter when a pin has a tendency to freeze to your pinky!
  4. That's a pretty good deal for the Lund. Too far??? 2 and a half hours and you'd have the boat on your hitch heading home. Commonly drive from Bowmanville to Queenston, fish for a few hours and home for dinner.
  5. John! Teej, you are one of the fairest folks around. I know. Well written response Rick.
  6. Not a small procedure my friend, best wshes. Open invite to join me on the ice for some eyes, nice and shallow, easy fishing with one hand. Phil
  7. I hear ya Lew. I guess it is nice to know those who you believe have everything, go through the same crap as everyday folks. Except my wife would use a flippin stick.
  8. Goes to show you no matter how beautiful a woman is, a man somewhere is sick of putting up with her crap. Woods, crashed into it then beat with one.
  9. To sum it up: The "show" buys the air time, usually 13 - 1/2hr spots. The "show" sells the commercial time to aka. sponsors. Included in commercial time is other perks for the "sponsors" i.e. trade shows, truck wrapping, web presence etc... In show "sponsors" i.e. Frabil pays for segments during the show, "The Frabil tip of the day" etc... Other equipment, usually fishing related, "sponsors" pay for thier use of product during the show with some other perks. It is very difficult every year to hunt and maintain these "sponsors". Sometimes you have to do what you have to do to keep things afloat i.e. push product. There is a fine line between "infomercial" and giving the "sponsors" what they pay for. It would be nice if a network would pick up fishing shows, own them (pay to air the show) and insert their own commercials. Until that happens, putitng up with alittle flogging of product is worth having some fishing on the tube while your at home on a Sunday morning. IMO
  10. Seeing that bugger in my back yard would have my hackles up a bit. Grab a pack of M80 firecrackers, take a shot with the rifle then run around the yard throwing the firecrackers with the young'ns for the neighbours There is a pack that hangs out in the Darlington OPG fields that can be seen almost every morning, about 6 of them. Used to see alot of deer too, but don't see them as often anymore.
  11. Crappie Kawarthas Walleye Quinte Perch No better place then Simcoe
  12. Can't wait til December next year for even bigger giants!
  13. All I can say after seeing a few of these posts, you guys are sitting on a SMB gold mine! Nice work with the YUM baits too. Awesome!
  14. MINT! Wicked set up. I can see why it took alittle while with the distractions on the wall.
  15. Can be fun to watch a guy try and land a fish with a 15ft lead(myself included). Especially when they have little or no room to move. As for the float stop, try using a piece of spinnerbait rubber skirt, one or two grannies and it will usually fit through the tip eyes on float rods.
  16. Please don't turn this into a political thread, it will just get zapped.
  17. I'm an email away! Alot of good is done, but the balance that is not, is shameful considering we have this amazing resource that without proper due dilligence could/is being taken advantage of.
  18. I agree 100%. This should absolutely be a no "incentive" program for a CO. Except for seasoned officers to get help with their huge work load. I just thought if you hired more CO's, covered their pays/costs through a "pot" directly funded by enforcement, they may cover themselves and therefore create a higher CO compliment.
  19. If your ice fishing outside of a hut, try to keep the as much fish in the water as possible. Unhook and push back down the hole. I am sure anglers are going to cringe to see a few giant walleye hoisted up for pictures through the ice this season on the kawarthas. I've seen it on Scugog with Musky quite often.
  20. Thats why I use 80 lb braid! Good point though! I use a 8in gas.
  21. Jer, try the old river channels, inside/outdside turns, humps in the middle of the bed. Make sure you have a gas powered auger or a 4inch manual. Drill tons of hole and cover alot of water. Anyone on this board who has panfished with me knows how many holes I drill I think I know the area you are talking about Jer on Buckhorn, I would start there aswell, if the ice allows. Good Luck.
  22. Cliff, I keep in contact with a few of my old clients from the States who still fish the area. I will keep your BB in mind. Gook luck! Phil
