  1. As long as she does not touch a lure, fishing rod or anything related to fishing within eyesore of a CO, she cannot be charged and you will be fine.
  2. I have never had an issue with rough water. The one time I had an issue with what you are describing was when spot lock was engaged and I bounced a 1/2oz sinker off of the head unit. It chirped for a second and the spot lock turned off. I re hit the spot lock and it took me back to where I was with no issues afterwards.
  3. I got a 100mph suit a few years ago and won't be buying anything cheap ever again. If I would have just bought this setup at the beginning, I would have been further ahead. Cabelas guidewear is in the same price range. You would be happy with either
  4. My two are on your list. I saw a barramundi tournament on wfn one day and was sold. Before that it would be the amazon for some peacocks.
  5. An invoice is not required, it only extends the time of the warranty from the date purchased instead of the date manufactured. I luckily have a minnkota service station near me and have sent my terrova in for a new pedal. Unfortunately, I don't think minnkota will care how many times it was used. It sucks, but that is just the way it is. It sounds to me like you may have a bad remote if everything else works. The only way to find out for sure is to send it in. If you are lucky, it will be a small part they can fix for a few dollars, if you aren't, I can't see it costing more than $200 for a remote if needed. Good luck and keep us informed! Adam
  6. I throw a mixed bag if jigs, top water, spnnierbait/buzzbaits and soft plastic tubes and worms. The wacky rig was almost exclusively what I used last year and had many 10-20 fish outings in 3-4 hours on the water (2 people fishing). It flat out works and does so especially well when nothing else is.
  7. I wacky rig a lot and do lose a few more baits but I use worms that are designed for it so it isn't as bad as using ones like senko's that tend to split in have after a hard hit. I use the powerteam lures sick sticks. They vibrate a lot and the scent brings the fish in. I also use a 1/16 to 1/8oz weighted wacky hooks to make the rig sink a little faster. It also helps when you twitch the bait as the two ends will almost touch each other and then go back to its natural state.
  8. A shot in the dark but would you be able to use a fishing knot tool?
  9. I bought some buffleheads at bass pro in auburn ny once. You might be able to get them at the one in Toronto. I have also seen something similar at Paddletales in Winchester. I know he will ship as well.
  10. I had a tournament on Saturday and was the same way. The fire in my belly was terrible! Managed to calm down after blastoff and we had an alright showing. I only do one tourney a year so it sucks.
  11. I have the terrova with a 60" shaft and I pilot. My dad has a powerdrive original. There is no comparing the two. Mine is easy to stow and deploy. His is a bugger to stow and deploy and the pedal on the powerdrive sucks compared to the terrova. The 60" shaft depends on what you have it mounted on. Mine is on a bass tracker 190tx and is too long for most situations I fish in. If I had a deep v, it would be perfect. Oh an unless you are fine with just the ipilot (some people are) you will not get a pedal with the powerdrive if you install and ipilot. This may have changed though. If you are really looking for the ultimate stow and deploy, check out the new Minnkota Ulterra. It looks like a terrova on steroids. It automatically stows and deploys with a push of a button on te ipilot remote. It can also be adjusted up or down using the remote or pedal. Not worth it for me to upgrade but if it would have been on the market when I bought the terrova, I would have seriously thought about it.
  12. If they offered you $300.00, they will be sending it to auction. They will not offer you much more because they are concnerned at what it will bring. IMO, that is basically a slap in the face. $1500.00 is what I would be looking for as is. I would not take a penny less. There are always people looking for something like this so it shouldn't take long to sell. Good luck!
  13. A lot of new props come with separate hubs. If the hub brakes loose, you can just go out and buy a new one instead of sending the prop in to get the work done. Putting a new hub in can work but sometimes it will just slip again in a few weeks/months. Mine started to slip last year and paired with a few dings was going to cost me more than a new prop was worth so I just got a new prop instead
  14. Nice fish! If you like the Zara, try the new Duo Realis Pencil 110. It is a little thinner but makes a lot of noise. I have caught some nice bass and pike on it. Also had a musky jump straight out of the water and miss. My heart skipped a beat when that happened!
  15. I use the BPS 100MPH suit. I do not have any complaints other than the jacket may be a little heavy in downpous in the middle of august. It is great to fall fish in though. They have a liner you can attach for colder months but I just prefer to layer up on those cold days... It is really hard to beat GORE when looking for a waterproof breathable mateiral. I just decided to go wth the BPS because of the cost. It also helped that I somehow got a 25% off coupon from somewhere... They also have great reviews on their website. The Pro Qualifier is a little cheaper but also get good reviews.
  16. I run a lowrance Elite 5dsi at the wheel and a humminbird 561 grayscale at the bow. They are obviously not linked... Lowrance now has the elite 5 hdi which gives you 2d and down imaging but I don't think there is a difference in the chartplotting capabilities. A color screen also really helps and there are no required add ons for temp sensors or GPS. Just know that if you mark a waypoint, it will be from where the unit is on the boat and not from the front or back.
  17. If you want to cheap offering, The lowrance Elite or the humminbird 5 series are what I would recomend. Anything smaller than a 5"screen can be challenging. If you want to link the two together, you will need to look at the 7 series birds or I belive any of the HDS units from Lowrance. Both fishfinders need to be of the same make though and other than sharing waypoints or transducers, there really isn't a point for what you seem to be describing. Installation isn't too bad. The intstructions are pretty easy to follow. Both my units are run through a fuse panel that runs directly to the battery. I did not tap into another power source as that can cause interference or shorting.
  18. If you are looking for these reels on Ebay, also look at the Shimano Scorpion 1501. It is the Japanese version of the curado and there are a few of them for under $100.00 right now. For me, I had never used a baitcaster before 2009 so all of my experience is with the newer versions. For palmability, I have never really found one that was uncomfortable. At the moment, my favorite reel in the lower price range is the Curado I. It holds a ton of liine but isn't terribly large for what you get.
  19. Las if you don't have enough information yet, check out http://blindfishingboat.com/category/blind-fishing-boat/ Lawrence Gunther is the blind fisherman and had used the same boat you are looking for to set up the first blind fishing boat. It essentially used sensors and GPS with an animated voice to navigate. He has since stepped up to a ranger but I think he still has this.
  20. I looked at this exact boat at a dealer the other day. It is built like a solid boat and will echo that the 25 won't be enough. If you were looking at a boat that didn't have the casting decks in it, a 25 would probably be fine, but the added weight from the casting deck and storage would make this boat perform terribly.
  21. Absolutely the best post of this whole thread!!!
  22. Cut those out and buy a resettable one from minnkota. As stated before I think your motor is rated for a 45 or 50 amp but you can check that on the minnkota website. 32 amps is too small for that motor for sure even if there are two of them...
  23. I have just always bought from the sunglasses hut!
  24. Considering my local shop was selling off the last regular Calais for the same price, I say you got a smoking deal on that reel. One of the local fisherman has one of these and uses it for long distance casting techniques. Frogs, spinnerbaits and a few other things I can't think of. The weigh of this reel is it's only downfall. Take care of it and it will last you years. And once you have worn her out and can't get parts for it, you will still have a really shiny and "fancy" showcase piece that has probably paid for itself tenfold...
  25. I got that email to. It still qualifieds for the $200.00 mail in rebate as well which makes this a pretty sweet deal! I am also one of those with no funds for such a purchase but if I could, it would be awesome
