  1. I have another suggestion for you. Why don't you launch at the Key River and go out into GBay? My buddies and I did that on year 2 after going to the Pickeral the first year. We camped on Dokis Island which is only a few miles west of where the river drains into GBay. I think that the total distance was around 13 miles. The fishing is better and the scenary is unbelievable. You won't find anyone camping out there.
  2. If you are fishing west of Hwy 69 you are clear sailing all the way down to Wahnapitei Bay. If so, give me your email address and I can give you some more details. I have not been there for 20 years but do have some good stuff to share!
  3. Okay Rick, I counted 12 Ricks! How many are yours?
  4. I personally would take it to a mechanic and have it checked. I once had a "minor" underwater collision and left it alone. The slight vibration from a bent propshaft eventually worked its way right up to the crankshaft and cost me a bomb to have fixed.
  5. They are out in Newmarket which is very unusual.
  6. Paul at Topgun is very good. I highly recommend him.
  7. It's a beautiful boat Lew! Make sure to put a cloth between the motor support and the motor itself. Those plastic caps will wear the paint off of the lower unit in no time. I noticed that after trailering the boat just two times.
  8. Maureen, any place that specializes in selling chainsaws should have this gear as well. Try a Stihl dealer.
  9. Flappin, I have the mechanics manual for my 75 Merc. There is a section that talks about hooking up the cable to the motor. If you want it, let me know your email address. It is a .pdf file.
  10. Give me your email address Busher.
  11. Busher, do you have the hydrographic chart of the lake? There are s number of humps that you should try trolling over. Are you using downriggers or copper line to get the bait right down to the proper depth? Williams Woblers are usually a sure thing for lakers.
  12. Wayne, I think that you should change your avitar to this!!!!!
  13. I was in the wedding party for an old friend back in 1992 who lived in Barrie, and being a bunch of cottage buddies who all boated together as friends, we rented the Saren Dippity paddle boat for an evening booze cruise with some gambling. We had an absolute ball! The only problem was that the cruise ended after 2 hours and we did not know this at the time, so we ended up at the Ripper joint for a few hours. I would have rather had the evening end with a party someone, but it did not pan out that way.
  14. send me a PM with your email address.
  15. Adam, are you staying east or west of Hwy 69?
  16. I use a bungie anchor rope as shown in the link below with 6 feet of 3/8" chain and fluke style anchor. It holds my boat off shore even in large waves from boats passing near by. I've never had it break loose. Anchor Buddy
  17. Unfortunately he was wearing dark coloured clothing, so if he did fall out of the boat, he will be difficult to spot. When the water is this cold, a floatation suit makes alot of sense, but was not mentioned in the article, so who knows if he was wearing one?
  18. Rizzo, what lake are you on? Is it BWF, LWF or Clear?
  19. TJ, I hat to tell you this but your son is taller than you now!
  20. Wayne, were they at the pond down on Giants Tomb!
  21. I think that this image says it all. I've seen it posted on the board in the past.
  22. Here is the email link for those who wish to give their opinion on this topic to someone at the Cormorant Defenders International: Cormorant (P3TA) wannabes

  24. You can't beat Bass Lake PP near Orillia. They have small tinnies and canoes that you can rent right on premises. There are plenty of panfish in the lake along with Smallies. The park also has a nice beach with a playground at the waters edge with the old fashioned spinning wheel where one kid runs around outside to spin it and all of the other kids hang on inside. Orillia is only 10 minutes away, so if the whether is losy, you can go into town and catch a movie. The park in downtown Orillia also has a miniture steam engine that you can take him on!
  25. Does anyone ever fish for eyes in the Waubaushene Victoria Harbour area in May? If so, what kind of luck do you have and what area should I concentrate on as there is so much water to cover? Any help would be much appreciated!
