  2. So Mr. Snider, about Team Canada's ability to select talent...
  3. Filed under the heading: "PUT THE CAMERA DOWN AND HELP ME!!! http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/moose-attack-caught-on-camera-in-smithers-b-c-1.2536471
  4. The super slow motion camera shots are incredible. In the ski jumping you can see the skis flapping as they take-off and then whip down and bounce on the landing. You can see the downhill skiers' quad muscles rippling as they make a turn. Even the shell casings being expelled during the biathlon. Mesmerizing.
  5. It's not as if this is one of 30 nhl teams. There is not really a "weak" player that you could point at and say he's not good enough. These are all top-line guys that play 20plus minutes. Six to seven of these forwards are going to play less the 12 or so minutes a game. They need to understand their roles. And Subban can move the puck on the big ice (so can just about every other all-star on this team). He also then has to make-up that big ice when he's out of position. They play 2 teams that offer minimal high level challenge which really makes it hard to truly evaluate where they sit.
  6. Ski cross. Sort of like roller derby on skis with-out the script.
  7. Hard to pick for me. Most of the stuff I love to watch I only watch once every 4 years. All the different types of cross country skiing, biathlon, downhill, ski jumping, bobsleigh, luge, long track, short track. Not a big fan of most of the x-games type stuff but I think the ski-cross and snowboard cross are some of the most exciting sports to watch.
  8. A wee bit o' snow eh.
  9. CBC has some short videos about Russia and the Russian people that they are showing during the Olympics. This one is about a fisherman on the Volga River, it's 2 minutes long: http://olympics.cbc.ca/videos/video/seoname=russia-volga-fishermen.html
  10. At today's practice these were the forward lines: Kunitz-Crosby-Carter Sharp-Toews-Nash Marleau-Getzlaf-Perry Benn-Tavares-Bergeron St. Louis/Duchene rotate. Babcock was quoted saying of Carter: "If he passes it back to Sid, he can't play with him."
  11. Hope Phil and JVR's puckluck disappears for a couple of weeks.
  12. Failed Sochi highjacker may have been drunk and/or high… First clue was his attire:
  13. Ya if I could keep her from trying to pick-up and eat the puck.
  14. Heads up. HNIC has the Leaf's game starting at 6pm tonight. It would be nice to have another win before the break.
  15. A lot of stores will have sales in March. Yes the "missing" cork (or foam crap) does save wieght. It also changes the balance of the rod. And in the case of cork it saves money. Personally I am not a fan of split-grips, but a difference of opinion makes a horse race.
  16. Apparently the Fan590 has Kadri's dad on the radio tonight discussing the did he/didn't he thing.
  17. Clearly I'm not a MD but that's not how these things usually work?
  18. Strokes are a blockage in the brian, how is the hole in the heart related?
  19. Just not the type of news you expect to hear about a pro athlete in the prime of his life.
  20. For all the chirping about Kadri's dad not wearing a jersey I just saw a clip with him wearing one.
  21. I for one would always take the word of someone playing fast a lose with their fiduciary duties.
  22. Soaking it water won't help "un-do" line twist. It might make the line more limp and it might take on the form of the reel's spool better.
  23. Ya, the joke making the rounds today was that Marty was the only one who could fit in the room/bed that was left….Well, him and 8 of the habs forwards.
  24. In Ontario age of majority is 18.
  25. I have a feeling Zdeno Chara might be even more ornery then normal during the Olympics.
