  1. The Avery-Broudur back and forth this week was even better. With Avery delivering the one punch knock-out.
  2. So my father in law used to play goal back in the day. I was thinking of buying him a replica mask as birthday present. My wife didn't have any photos of the mask and just about every white mask "kind-of-looks like it?" So I figured I'd just come out and ask the man what type of mask he wore. He said it was an early Jacques Plante style/brand. Now we're getting somewhere… until he comes back from the basement with his original mask. He had painted it a few times. I would have put it on but the original straps seemed brittle so I did want to wreck anything. You don't buy a copy when you already have the Mona Lisa. Back to the drawing board for gift ideas.
  3. The N.V.C.A. plays fast a loose with the law.
  4. Didn't hear that. I won't pretend that I would handle questions after; a loss, during a losing streak or a personally bad game, but I'm not the one with the "C". That's the role. After the game you give the media the sound bite cliché. Nobody with any sense believes anything said, many don't listen or read the quotes but that's the dance. The media pretends it matters, the players pretend it matters, and the meatheads that paint their bodies eat it up.
  5. The "young" one is known as eyebrows; the other, sideburns. Some of my best fishing memories are fishing with my dad. I hope I can do the same for my son.
  6. It's a move that can not be made by someone wearing the "C". Even if they were never suited to wear a letter.
  7. Ya, it's been a while since they produced those ones.
  8. You load sixteen tons, and what do you get?
  9. The new store in Barrie is taking job applications: http://barrie.ctvnews.ca/cabela-s-set-to-hire-200-workers-for-barrie-store-1.1747445
  10. The farther back we go, the smaller we were and the fish bigger.
  11. Putting our dog down was the hardest thing I ever done. It's been almost two years and I'm still not ready to get another one.
  12. I know you were asking about blades and that has been covered but I'll add that I have picked up beads at craft stores. Closer (at least until Cabela's opens in town this summer), large selection and a lot cheaper.
  13. Rimier is 1b (or a) remember (Randy's words to the media, not mine). He should play more then a back-up. Rimier started 5-6 out of 30 odd games for a stretch and that's not enough. I don't necessarily like Remier, but I do hate the way he's been "managed" this season. Another factor to consider is that Remier has a history of concussions (or concussion like symptoms) and took a knee to the head and had a headache after the L.A. game. Coach says "No" he was hit in the shoulder. The Leafs haven't got a point since then.
  14. The coach hardly played the "backup" (sorry "1b") goalie for 3 months and when the number 1a goalie goes down with an injury, that the coach knew about before the game, the cold goalie that he'd been mentally kicking all season didn't come up big when needed. Slow clap for Randy. You sure showed that goalie, and the media, just how smart you are. Maybe we can get Mike Nykoluk back behind the bench.
  15. Very nice. Just need to have 8lb walleye in its jaws.
  16. Big surprise that the Bruins fan is tone deaf. That's the only explanation for Rene Rancourt.
