  1. The sooner the great lakes freeze the better.
  2. Ya, but is it good ice?
  3. The snowstorm and 20cm of snow forecasted suggest that there won't be much to see around here.
  4. So, throw them in the trash outside the store so my wife doesn't know is not an acceptable answer?
  5. Didn't need that back then. Same for seatbelts, fishing licences, sunscreen and bubble wrap.
  6. I know someone who went a long way with no cotter pin, Put it in reverse to slow the boat down and floumpt the prop drops off.
  7. Should have some pink balls.
  8. I'm not sure about that. They were installing those new protection poles this week and this might just be a temporary thing. I guess we'll see.
  9. I can see both sides but this might be a slippery slope. The rod is just loaded and springs, not much different from a downrigger. If the butt of the rod was "set" then that would be a different kettle of fish (sorry ).
  10. My dad with some Nipissing pike, early 60's.
  11. Gold. Mike's keen fashion sense explained with one photo.... until you see the second photo....and you didn't have to tell us anything we didn't already know about the last photo.
  12. My Dad had a hobby shop in the 70's in North Bay.
  13. Me, "driving" the boat:
  14. Stop fishing in my spots.
  15. "Your face will stay like that."
  16. Where those matching jackets blue/light-blue? I think I burnt mine.
  17. My Grandfather, Hinchberger's Bay, Lake Nipissing:
  18. My little brother and I:
  19. Looks like Lew was destine for the sea from a very early age. My first pike. I was blond too.
  20. Holy crap. Two grand for some heat? We've got a 2012 highlander. I hope the heat goes on my side.
  21. Another thing that can work is to hold down the power button on the tv (not the remote) when you turn it on. Frustrating, I know, but might as well try everything before repairing or replacing. Try another outlet? Is it plugged into a "box" of some sorts? Cable/satellite/pvr
  22. Zebra mussels also rip braid to shreds. Not relative to many ares of the province but the sea is full of corral and other shells that rip all types of lines to shreds. I love braid (or superlines), use them just about all the time and spools last years before I flip it around and continue to use it for a few more years. But, it doesn't hold up to heavy abrasion the way fluoro, or even mono, does. That's just the way it is. If you don't need it, great, don't use it, I only use it when I have to. Braid doesn't stand up to sharp teeth the way a good fluoro does either and there are lots of big, and small, fish in the sea with teeth that make a muskie look like a bass.
  23. Compared to mono or flouro rated at half the break strength of braid yes.
  24. Vilid points on the 2 piece versus the 4, or more, piece rods but sometimes those few inches do make a difference.
  25. Blasphemy.
