  1. Then the river will fall in one one or another, not both, call the mnr to find which one the river falls into.
  2. Lake Fork............... or did you want to stay local
  3. piston or gears is my guess
  4. Gbay out of Wiarton, or Lake huron, around Oliphant area. my fav, not to mention the fantastic swimming and small mouth bass fishing there is there, and you can't beat a lake huron sunset. heres a pic from the islands there
  5. Thanks everyone, 2 years ago we found a nice school of 10-15lbers just out of whitby harbour around the white bouy markers. hoping we find something like that again and may be something large. I can get a general idea of where the boats are fishing, doesn't give me an idea of how deep riggers are set, or what combinations or working
  6. Talking the first 50ft of water, or moving to shallower waters?
  7. Ok, will keep that in my notes as well, will be going out on the long weekend. will hopefully be a good time
  8. Thanks Gallie, I don't think there'd be a whole lot of difference
  9. Well, with my Dad coming up from Sarnia for our annual salmon trip on Lake Ontario, I'm looking for some hints on depths the fish are sitting, not looking for a specific locations, rather what zone to target. I do not own a boat, I only get out on the lake once or twice a year, when my Dad brings his boat up. After our skunk last year, I'd like to try and prevent that this year. We will fishing out of Whitby. What are some go to colours, and depths people are fishing?
  10. Well for instance when you ask a question like you did, that can possibly have a sacarstic or semi sarcastic response, ie: bring less rods, why get your panties in a bunch about it, shrug it off as sarcasm and let it go
  11. Fishing cures all ailments! get out there and enjoy the day in your boat!
  12. Yes, 'voluntold' to get the house and yard cleaned up for my dads visit in 2 weeks. need the brownie points for the 2 days of fishing lake o that are coming! but back on topic, its no different here, than it is in the work place or with a group of friends when you ask a question and you get smart@ss sarcastic comment back. if you can't take the humour in it, why are you here? All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.
  13. depending on how big you want to go, a new 5th wheel will run 40-80k, plus the cost of the truck to haul it with, and a half ton is not recommended for 5th wheels If it were me, I'd go with a motorhome, tow your current vehical behind it, park it where ever you want to sleep that night. Yes, the cost will be higher to buy the motorhome. Motorhomes are easier to sell than 5th wheel trailers, guy down the street from has had his up for sale for 3 years, very few people own a truck to tow a 5th wheel with, let alone those who have a 5th wheel hitch.
  14. Got tickets this afternoon for Saturday Nights semifinal baseball game, $20 each, can't wait! have no idea whos playing in it yet
  15. My dad is making the trip up from Sarnia on the long weekend, hopefully plenty of fish to be had by then
  16. There are reports of Blue/Green Algae along the shores so just be cautious
  17. And here I was expecting to see a picture of skunk in the lake! Tough luck with the east winds though! That old saying holds true, east is least, west is best
  18. Also, worse that can happen with the Diawa, I don't like the way it feels on the panfish, I give it to my daughter and pick up the Fenwick
  19. Not just for panfish. Theres some beauty pike spots around here, also for river mouths that are tucked into harbours, theres a few, great for salmon and steelhead. theres also a couple of area that will boats, but only electric motors or paddles, no gas engines even if they aren;t running, great pike, bass and carp spots
  20. Went into Gagnons, felt they were a little over priced on their rods, so hopped over to Sail. Put all the ultra light rods i could and lined them up, put each one in my hand and picked the one that felt best, and that was the diawa. its rated for 1-4lb and 3/32oz-1/8oz
  21. Picked up a Daiwa Tri-Force UL, a Daiwa Laguna 2000 reel and 4lb Trilene. I had the Fenwick in my hands, and didn't quite like the way the grip felt in my hands. For $93 got the whole outfit. Maybe try it out tonight in Whitby Harbour Also picked up a power inverter for the truck so I can plug my shop-vac into it to blow up my inflatable boat. got a Fish Hunter 260 by Sevylor
  22. yea, it would be mid day, and on a Sunday or Monday
  23. I see that! great rod, but is it worth going into downtown toronto during the pan am games chaos for? i dunno. could be a 4 or 5 hour drive with traffic backups cause of the stupid HoV lanes going to pop into Sail today and see what they have
  24. Glad you're doing better! Gotta be wasps for sure, honey bees would not attack like that. Get em all, glad it was an adult that found them, would be a much worse story if that was a young kid.
